I didn't like that question either. But just because one listens to country music doesn't make them in cahoots with the NRA country music alliance. I was never surprised that it was a thing but I kind of thought - there has to be one of you (artists) that aren't down with being told you are "part of a lifestyle and a bond between the best and brightest in country music and hard-working Americans."

I do have a Trump voting boss who rails on about "liberal musicians who never went to college talking about politics..."

I just bring up the country artists who do the exact same. Mainly to hear him stutter and try to find another way to worry about something so asinine. There is some overlap between affiliation and some forms of music but any lover of music wouldn't let that sway them, imo.

Hm I feel like it's more even than that. Then again I would not want to describe my political stances as "solid" as I follow whoever has the best ideas (or the ideas that sound the least awful). But regardless, I do feel that I lean a bit more left now because I don't agree with a lot of what the Republicans are doing right now.
