It feels awkward for some reason. If I realize it that is.

If someone is the same type as me, there is a good chance that we will share similar thought processes, mannerisms, and similar strengths and weaknesses. I can feel like I really relate to this person, that I 'get' this person and this person will 'get me.' It might also be somewhat awkward conversing with someone of the same type. INTPs or 5's typically aren't the best conversationalists unless it's a topic of real interest to them. If two INTPs or 5's don't share common interests, conversation between them can be quite stilted. Also, there's some awkwardness in seeing the other INTP or 5 being awkward in the same ways you are. For that reason, sometimes it's better to have someone that complements you a little more.

I met an INFP once, but she didn't talk...she had some sort of social trauma so she couldn't talk to people directly and she used her boyfriend to "translate". It was really weird. I usually feel very good in company of ENFPs, they bring light into my life, make it seem more open and free and that's exactly what I usually need. ENTPs and INTPs are amazing as well.

I roundhouse kick them over the horizon to ensure the local INFP population never rises above 5%. Any more than that puts an undue strain on the ecological balance.

In my zeal, I've accidentally dispatched with a few ISFJs, ISFPs, ENFPs, and INFJs. It was bound to happen.

My friend is an INFJ female who is far more romantic, dramatic, and social than I am. But our ways of reading and discussing people are pretty similar.

I got to know an INFJ female peer while training for TFA. We had very similar philosophical outlooks and dispositions, not only had mirroring generalist interests in the hard sciences but drew similar philosophical implications from them -- quantum physics and free will -- and both likewise made no references to authorial sources of information or anything, just sharing big picture thoughts and ideals

I TA'd under a gen X INFJ ceramicist last year and he mentored me for part of this year at school; we have similar attitudes towards teaching and political views towards the art world; he said he could very much relate to my positions, said he probably would feel the same way at my age, with the ideas in the air and tech available for me now vs. when he was younger; I likewise could see myself having been quite like him in his shoes

I also TA'd for an INFJ who I found aloof with an irreverent humor and seeming superficiality that I couldn't relate to; it could have been the power relation effecting things. I didn't think she was an INFJ until she told me.

Before really knowing other INFJs (that I knew were INFJs) I assumed we'd be too weirdly similar, but I found it nice; we were all still clearly different people.

Hello people :hi:

It is not a mystery anymore, meeting someone, new or not is some kind of mirror. :smoke:

We attract what we are. What else :rly???: So....how do you feel/think when you meet the same type as you ?

If it is a man ? If it is a woman ?

Do you feel familiar ? strange ? enthusiast ? Or do you feel bad and you wanna run away ?

I deeply think the way we feel with our own type is the love we truly have of our SELF.

Other ideas on that subject ? Other theories and experiences ?

Thanks for sharing your dear feelings, thoughts and attitudes when meeting "your twin".

I feel meh. If we don't share interests, we are not going to jive.

When I click with them, I feel at home. I feel free to express my thoughts without being dismissed or misunderstood. It's very rewarding.

But, with all honesty, I also feel a tinge of competitiveness. Just a sliver.

I have only met 3 ENFJs that I know of. One was a professor, and omg I loved her so much. We would always talk after class and it was just an instant compatibility thing. If it wasn't for the age gap I think we would've been great friends.

I have a crush on one atm... I was accidentally rude at first because I was unsure of their motives and now I'm being ignored. Fml.

One male ENFJ ended up becoming my biggest nightmare. Started out as friends but that very quickly turned into brutal competition... Literally everything was made into a competition and it was so exhausting. Ew

Girls that are like me are intense and a little scary assertive. We tend to get along quite well but sometimes two of us get to be too much.

Guys like me are always hot and have the best personalities but we always end up fighting over something because two people that can't shut the fuck up together isn't always a good combination. I also find ESTP males are generally the player type and I have a pretty low threshold for that.

Intense personalities interacting with other intense personalities gets pretty aggressive and chaotic but it's cool when it works.

it's cool, but I just hope they're not too similar to me. if they're gonna wind up being my friend, i'm gonna need to feel distinguished at least a bit from them because as great as we all know I am nobody wants or needs another one of me running around and I won't be feeling myself as much around them.

I yet have to meet another ISTP in real life, but I think my reaction would be something like :

How do you know? Can some of you tell right away or do you make them take the test? I can usually tell if a person is I or E but not a specific type. Anyway, I don't think I've met another INFP but can't say for sure.
