I maintain Nancy Pelosi is the biggest obstacle to progress in the Democratic Party. Spends more time bashing progressives and caving to Republicans.

She was just reelected Speaker so we're stuck with her for the next two years. I agree with you, though. She is one of the biggest problems within the Democratic party, as well actively harms the brand of the party within the minds of independents/moderate Republicans who could be swayed.

So...after all this bickering...they're cutting the most important aspects out of the bill thus far from what I see.

How fucking stupid was this. What the fuck Pelosi. If you're gonna die on the hill of meaning die on the fucking hill. Now you just look like a dumbass.

It was never about helping her constituents, it's always only ever been about harming her political enemies. the last four years the people like her have had it easy, all they have to do to grift is not look like the toddler in the oval office, but it's people like her who led to the god damned toddler in the oval office. She would never die on any hill if she had a say in the matter. Dying is what the poor are for.

Pelosi and Schumer back $908 billion bipartisan COVID proposal as basis for talks

Way to go "Master Legislator" Nancy Pelosi. If you were gonna cave on a shitty deal from the Republicans, why didn't you cave on the less shitty deal Trump proposed? At least it provided more robust aid for actual people and not just more business relief. Seriously, Democrats continually move forward as Republicans take steps back and say "meet me in the middle", and the Dems cave every goddamn time. You had a better chance at getting things done working with Trump on hill bill and using his power over the Republican voters to pressure his party into voting for his bill -- that would've been the best route. Instead you didn't get any of the things you said you wanted to even from Trump's bill -- in fact you got much less. And you still caved, while dragging this thing out way further than it needed to be at the expense of the people you aren't going to end up helping anyway.

Democrats have come down over 2 trillion and the Republicans have come up 400 Billion thus far.

She was NEVER gonna do anything for the people. Help is what the people do for her, not what she does for the people.

I believe her hatred for Trump ended up blowing up in her face. She made this huge grandstand on how Trump's bill didn't address all the needs blah blah blah -- his and Mnuchin's 1.8Trillion dollar bill. And guess what? No nobody gets dick outside of small business, McConnell still gets what he wanted in the form of business liability protections from covid, and normal every day people get the middle finger while Nancy pats herself on the back for coming up with a bipartisan concession compromise with Republicans. Meanwhile Republicans still win the messaging war because Patriot Mitch McConnell stopped crazy Nancy and the leftists from pushing sOcIaLiSM. Failure all the way around.

She did all this to end up with even less than what Trump's stimulus bill proposed. At least Trump would use the pressure of getting called out via twitter to pressure the Republicans into supporting his bill.

Yeah well, it sure looks like she likes having Republicans Blow up in her face. Silly of me to have forgotten in the last four years.

Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.

I think there's no way that actual career politicians within the Democrat Party are going to be that worried about last minute stunts by the GOP or Trump to limit their ability to achieve any change while holding office.

Think about it.

If anyone had a job in which they would reap all the benefits of their post without actually having to do anything or implement any change or improvement wouldnt they just do that?

The Democrats and Republicans arent just Pepsi vs. Coca Cola anymore they're actively co-operating if you ask me in duping the public.

Yeah, they put the most energy in trying to stop challengers to the left of them.

True. And now they have the courts as well. Dems be like - we'd love to pass meaningful legislation but the Senate and yanno, the courts. Sorry our hands are tied.

4:40 You didn't keep your word. And you were so arrogant as to take the decision away from the American people. Or at least you tried. Still.
