wait  really

Weeelll... not quite. But if the birthdate on your profile is true, then we have six years between us. In human years that's not much, but if chicken years are like dog years it's like half a lifetime....??? :rly???:

First of all I would like to say hello to everyone, I'm new to this forum. :bye:

I take it sort of seriously. Nowadays I try find out what is my tipe and I study about the cognitive fuction, which is very interesting and I think that is the essence of the MBTI system, if I'm not wrong.

And sorry if my english is wrong, I'm not a native speaker.

How seriously do you take mbti, and why? Do you think it has any use, or is it just a fun theory?

I don't take it that seriously.

It has some use. Mostly as a language to talk about ourselves.

It is a fun theory. Theories are fun.

Entrancement and Tragedy

Mbti entrances most of us here. It makes us feel good, it makes us feel in control, it makes us feel we belong. And this is what a good trance does: it puts the critical mind to sleep and makes us feel good. And it meets our deepest need, the need for meaning.

We are after all meaning creating animals. Unlike most animals, instinct operates at a low level in us, while meaning can and does often override instinct. And we often, usually, act on meaning. Without meaning we are lost, and indeed we become depressed, so we prefer any meaning to no meaning.

And this is our tragedy: we prefer any meaning to no meaning, we prefer a meaning with no connection to reality, we prefer a meaning with its own immoral agenda.

Your poetic writing amuses me. I'm kinda curious about this "immoral agenda".

Not that seriously. It's good to know about the differences between people and how to approach them, but it's not like I wasn't aware of all that before discovering MBTI. It's another tool to help me understand people and it can be fun.

Typology is appealing to me but I'm skeptical of it.

I have stated my reasons elsewhere and won't go over them (see previous).

I think it's a useful tool for understanding yourself and others but I'm generally wary of putting too much emphasis on it. I see too many people using it as an end all be all explanation/excuse for behavior.

The immoral agenda is the agenda of Carl Jung who wrote, Psychological Types. Carl Jung freely and voluntarily took his orders from Reichsmarschall Hermann Wilhelm Göring. And Carl Jung ran the German Psychoanalytic Association for the National Socialists. He got rid of the Jew CEO Max Eitingon, and replaced him with the cousin of the Reichsmarschall Hermann Wilhelm Göring, who was Mathias Göring.

Carl Jung wrote Psychological Types to complement the somatic types taught by National Socialism. The purpose of somatic and psychological types is to reify, to turn persons into things, because it is easier to get rid of things, and it worked.

So the immoral agenda is to reify persons. This was used to effect the Final Solution, but today reification is used to turn us into units of production and consumers.

MBTI is a joke. it's about as tied to reality as astrology, only far less entertaining.
