Seriously it's amazing to see the right lose their shit the second the left starts arming and defending themselves.

No one on the Right think's the Left arming themselves is bad in any way. Nor are any opposed to self defense. I personally have been saying you guys should arm yourselves since the riots. Cognitive dissonance much.
I've always found it rather sweet you made the assumption no one was already?![]()
Seeing how Democrats and Liberals usually openly opposes gun rights, yes it's fair to assume. Don't call people out on assumptions when both parties does it regularly.
Again you assume I was "calling you out"
What other purpose does your post serve? I don't get why you disect everything I say, but no one elses.
Again you assume I was "calling you out"
Conversation? I would have thought you of all people would appreciate that. And I don't really disect much of anything you say; don't really see the need, I tend to take what you say at face value. Should I not?![]()
Implying you actually want to have a conversation about politics, especially on the forum. Even if you be somewhat respectful, the majority of people here will just treat me like shit again because they are oh so much better than me. They will interject into our conversation and some indirectly trying to antagonize me. Kinda funny when the party who supports minorities treat a minority opinions like shit. Really says a lot about their real characters. Especially when I've treated most of them respectfully the best I ever could. Then when I get annoyed and post something antagonistic, I am the only one that gets called out. It is blatantly unfair.

If you really feel this way, what do you make of it? Why do you think this happens? Are there any steps you've considered taking to bring this situation to a more satisfying place for you? What would such a place look like?
I think people who discuss politics should learn not to be contemptable and disrespectful to opposing opinions. It's not that fucking hard. I've been the only one trying to change, other people should try to as well, or they shouldn't call me out on behavior they themselves are far more guilty of committing. I'd much rather this place be a conversation among friends, not this passive aggressive shit flinging masquerading as intellectual conversations.
the bolded: How so?
the underlined: What behavior?
the one that needs a v8: A conversation among friends? please elaborate?
Do you ever feel that you yourself are disrespectful or contemptible to opposing opinions?

1) It is quite obvious I am the only one in the political section who cares enough to change how they interact with others to be more accommodating. No one even gives me the time of day except Coriolis 90% of the time.
2) You are the mod, you should be able to see what is toxic behavior and what is not. Do you want me to point it all out for you? Because I'd totally be down with psychoanalyzing and posting people's toxic posts. Just don't ban me for calling people out for insults.
3) Conversations in the political forums should be one on equal grounds, and contain the same respect you would have with friends. See any conversation I've had in politics with my actual friends for reference. Crazy how nice people can be if they tried, even in the heat of disagreement.
4) I would say I am on of the LEAST disrespectful. I may be blunt, but bluntness isn't disrespect. I may get irritated, but no more or less than anyone else. I may generalize due to how I communicate (which I have tried to change), but that too isn't in itself disrespectful, unless you intentionally assume things of me based on generalization. I do however, get contemptible with how I am treated in association to my opinions. I don't judge a person based on their political opinions. I judge them by their behavior outside of it. If they are a bad character, then I am disliking them based on their character. Not their opinions. I tend to just ignore their disguised insults when I reply to them. They don't afford me the same respect. It was quite obvious in that other thread that someone posted in Bonfire. "Could you be friends with a racist". Since most Liberals assume Conservatives/Republicans are racist, by association most people here assume I am a racist by default. I get treated and assumed as such. Same goes with intelligence, they assume I'm dumb because I vote Republican. So I have every right to be some what aggressive and reactive, because I am constantly being gas lighted.
Thank you for taking the time to...answer my questions.
Falcarius is not American so he does not care who wins and probably would not even if he was American, since it does not seem to make a blind bit of difference since both of the main candidates are essentially reactionary conservatives. It is all style over substance, protectionism v neoliberalism. There are no real great ideas from either Trump or Biden about rebuilding the economy nor do either seem to understand what it is like to downright poor.![]()
