What in the world is the matter with me?!
I have butterflies in my stomach and I feel like crying!

Oh. Must be the meeting with my son's teachers on Thursday.
Way too intimidating.

tee-hee

Technically, I'm in love with my husband, but that doesn't give me butterflies anymore.

No. I have a meeting with 2 of my son's teachers. I am intimidated by them. I don't know how the problem can be resolved.

They're probably more scared of you than you are of them ;) I hope you manage to resolve things :)

Thanks, Blue, I might have to resort to that.

Thank you, WS. I have a hard time imagining that, though I suppose it could be true. :)

As I suspected, the teacher was an ISTJ, I'm pretty sure. I didn't publicly humiliate myself, which is always a bonus.
She's a very tough teacher, and she told my son that not many students get a B or A in the first quarter of her class, so she's not sure why he's unhappy. She did confess that's she is usually harder on boys.
I was very proud of my son for having the courage to speak up for himself. I did see his ears turn red at one point, so I know it wasn't easy.

I told her we thought there might be a personality conflict. Neither one of us dared address the problem of her raising her voice and yelling at the class.

I'll talk with my son some more before he goes to sleep . He might just have to learn how to deal with ISTJs, since there will probably be quite a few of them in his life. I think I gained some insight that I can impart to my son. It will probably help him.

I was wrong. He still wants to be taken out of her class. I had one of those "Aha!" moments that stupid people don't get and can't explain - it's not all THAT mysterious - but aaanyway, my son is mostly an auditory learner, and this teacher is not an auditory teacher. And she's highly impersonal, besides. That would please me just fine, but it won't work for my son.
