What color are my eyes???

I'm semi-colorblind and this has always been confusing to me. Are my eyes green, brown, or hazel? Something else?

Beyond that, I'm pretty sure I can see two distinctly different colors, so how do I describe my eyes? Is there a name for this? The outside of my eyes look green, and I think I can actually see that. (Right?) But then it looks like someone came in and accidentally spilled this nasty gold-brown-tan-rust-dirt-poo color in the middle and then let it spread out a little bit, but for all I know, that's just another shade of green.

So, what are they specifically and what should I chalk it up to when I get a fishing license or something when they ask me what color my eyes are?

The picture on the left is with me shining a small flashlight into my eye and the one on the right just has light from the camera flash. Unfortunately, the camera wouldn't focus from close range.

Ah, I think you're right! I did an image search for hazel eyes last night and none of them looked like mine, but that Wikipedia article says that hazel eyes can be different colors. It even mentions my own mix, green on the outside and light brown on the inside. Thanks, INTJMom!

I have hazel eyes which are dominatly brown, but I always say my eyes are brown because that is what most people notice.
