Well, Kamino's eye hasn't gotten any better, so today it was time to take him to the vet for a checkup.

I had to drag myself out of bed early to make sure I was able to get in before all of their other appointments came in. I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes at most (and they said they were double booked  ).

He's gained a pound in the last 10 days, so I think now he's right on target as far as weight is concerned. The vet said he still sounded very congested, and his eye was (as I thought) likely an extension of his URI. I was given some eye ointment and advised to continue giving him antibiotics as I have been doing.

Hopefully this will actually clear up in a few days. I'm not terribly surprised at the news, because I figured it would take him a long time to get over this due to his severely weakened state from the start. It's not like he was healthy and then he got a cold. No. It was more like he was gonna die and got the flu.

Of course, in the next week I need to take him back to have his next round of vaccinations. And next weekend I'm going out of town. I just hope it won't cost too much. This visit set me back $75. I have a bunch in savings that I can fall back on if I need to. And at the moment, it looks like I'm coming out way in the black on my finances. So it's not too much of a financial hole in my wallet.
