Quite interesting to see ancient/traditional form of spirituality practiced in an Indian village.

What many are most likely not aware of is that this happening is very similar to indigenous pre-Christian European practices.

Thor, Woden, Ing were human beings. Ancestral leaders of their people who continued to be honored as gods, long after tribes migrated up the Danube.

Ah, you're one of those Asatru types, this all adds up.

Did you have the Obama video on tap, waiting for someone to take the bait?

Ah, you're one of those Asatru types, this all adds up.

I did spend about three years going through a process of independently directed religious/spiritual studies. Going back as far as the Iron Age, and moving forward through various cultures and regions around the globe. Taking a look at Christianity, Judaism and the pagan/Goyim traditions that were preserved of local origin over time. Turkey was my test case for Islam. The crescent moon as a symbol for Islam originated from the pre-Islam indigenous beliefs of a tribe in the Turkish territory. Asatru is similarly problematic, being there wasn't a Greco-Roman style pantheon, and a major god of focus, was a relatively obscure cult figure for kings and soldiers, that spread north through Frisian missionaries.

Apparently Trump is highly revered by the Kurds as well. Weird.

Hindu's also practice iconography, but are absent the concept of idolatry.

It depends on what that iconography is used for. If they worship Trump as literally God, from a Christian perspective they would be idolaters. If they are simply venerating him in an attempt to send him "good vibes" via icon, then it's not so much idolatry, but oriental eccentricity. :D
