Tomorrow I start training the new woman to take my place. I will have worked at that job over a year. I have 2 more weeks to go. Woo-hoo!
My last day will be November 13th! Hey! That's a Friday! Friday the 13th has ALWAYS been a LUCKY day for me!
I've wanted out of that job for a long time, but I didn't feel free to leave. Then my husband died, and I was thankful I had the job, and that I was getting valuable experience that will look good on my resume...since I hadn't spent very much time in the workplace before now. My boss said she would give me an excellent referral.
I'm not staying there because 1 - I hate what the organization does 2 - I hate multi-tasking 3 - my workstation gives me pain in my arms, elbow, shoulders and back and 4 - they can't give me 40 hours per week so it's a moot point. Even if I loved the job, I couldn't stay. I need to go someplace else where I can get 40 hours a week plus health insurance.
Currently, I'm thinking I would like to start out as a bank teller in a nice low-drama office where I can get my feet wet working 40 hours a week... something not emotionally draining... something where you just wait on one person at a time... and where my perfectionism would be appreciated and actually come in handy.
I plan to use the time off to get my house in order and get ready for the holidays. I've heard they're going to be really tough... and I have no doubt it's true... since it'll be our first Christmas without my husband...
