Yesterday, while recuperating from oral surgery with an icepack on my mouth, I watched Superman Returns. It was a good movie. i originally saw it in Mont Tremblant on vacation back in 2006. Mont Tremblant was beautiful and a really nice vacation.

I thought it was an underrated movie, myself.

It was okay, but it seems like the writer and director couldn't decide whether to make it a reboot or a sequel. In that regard, the continuity was much weaker, like in the pre Daniel Craig Bond era.

Good cast--I liked Spacey and actually think he captured Lex Luthor's essence better than Hackman. Brandon Routh was decent as Superman.

The second half dragged a bit.

Of course, my opinions on films aren't always popular. I preferred the 2003 Hulk to the 2008 Incredible Hulk.

I thought it was neat. Is there some sort of hidden message or theme I'm missing?

I'm just sharing something I liked.

My guess is the theme is "my childhood," my complete series of Kamandi comics that are now gone, and my fortuitous finding of one of the neater episodes out of the series set to cool background music.
