Went up the water spout
Down came the rain and
Washed the spider out.. or something like that.
Anyway, I was just outside smoking a cigarette watching the fireflies when I saw a spider climbing up the water spout. It wasn't raining and I was glad that s/he reached his/her destination. At least that makes one of us.
This childrens song has always struck a chord with me. It seems to parallel my life. I always feel that for every step forward, I take two steps back. Oh well, I guess it is better than not taking any steps at all. I just wonder where I will end up?
