news networks have been spinning narratives for decades. Acknowledging this is a thing that happens doesn't make you a member of the Q crowd.
I feel like I've encountered people who implied that it was. Certainly happened on here.

Apparently people believe that they just share objective facts with no opinions or emotional coloring mixed in, and certainly no sensationalism.

Now that the dust has settled it can really be said that the dems got some slaps in the elections. If this happens in the midterms the country will be quite red.

All in all it seems that presidential approval wouldn't improve much or soon ( since this winter will be a mess).

Plus redistricting thus far is leaning towards red.

2022 will be a red wave almost surely. Only complete solving of COVID and related problems can perhaps turn this around.

US, Poland, Hungary land on 'backsliding democracies' list

A Sweden-based think tank has warned that the US and some eastern EU members are facing declines in civil liberties and other freedoms. In Asia, authoritarianism in China is casting an ever-larger shadow.

Based in Sweden, the 34-nation organization behind the report also found that, in 2020, the amount of countries moving toward authoritarianism outnumbered those moving toward democracy.

And this is basically how China led world order will look like. If the dominant power will be evident dictatorship then that will spill all over the place through various channels. That is simply how this game works and this is transformation towards "the new normal" in world order.

Polls from 538 about 2024.

Wisconsin: Trump +10
Pennsylvania: Trump +6
Michigan: Trump +12
Georgia: Trump +3
Arizona: Trump +8

What in other words means he would get new 4 years and this kinda fits into what happened in Virginia.
Even if you tilt this 5 points to the left it still doesn't change much.

Turning on student loan payments, turning off $300 a month per child direct payments, enacting the largest Medicare premium hike in history while preventing seniors from receiving dental and vision benefits & increasing interest rates all at the same time... (y)

When they lose in midterms you can bet that "wokeness" (because they never cynically talked about "woke" things to prop up their favored candidates, lol) or "BLM" or something like that will be blamed, though.

Democrats are preparing to get shellacked in the midterms without putting up a fight; they've scaled back on a lot of their promises and it isn't because of some "radical" insurgency they'll blame *coughSinemacoughManchin*. They scaled back on their proposal to expand Medicare's power to negotiate prescription drug prices because of Krysten Sinema (who I hope gets primaried hard). I don't see a way around it right now. The question is what this means for the 2024 presidential election. There's a lot of time between now and then, but if Republicans control the House and Biden gets re-elected, we're just seeing a repeat of the Obama years in terms of gridlock with some morsels of progress at best. The long-term concern comes from how virulent this current form of the Republican Party becomes and whether we're just delaying the rise of an even more radical right (or someone okay with leaning into this group and ideology) candidate.

Yeah, 2022 will be the red tsunami almost surely if something doesn't change rapidly in decisions (what probably wouldn't happen).

But as I said before I don't understand why US is so hostile towards multi-party system, even on paper. There are election winners around the world where the wining party was founded just months before the election. However they won because people liked the message. I mean this is ironic because multiparty system is basically the free market in politics. That forces you to deliver or your are toast and you will be completely replaced. Since you can lose the base to the last voter to the new alternatives that can pop up at in moment.

Most everyone I know is not hostile to a multi-party system. The two party establishments, otoh... it's what keeps the US from having meaningful political changes, not the voters.

Just as an example, I rescinded my membership in the Democratic Party formally. If I had to label myself, and because there is no true alternative party for me to join, I would say I'm a left wing independent that will caucus with Democrats on some issues. The only other option I have is to hook up with a right wing ultra-nationalist authoritarian crime syndicate, which is not happening.

Since then I have been inundated with emails, calls, letters. The GOP also does the same thing to it's disloyal members, albeit, via Trump and those threats are hilariously stupid. The Dems are simply pathetic.

Ok, but I was thinking more about the system itself. Although if people really really wanted this change/upgrade it would have happened.

Some belated Jan. 6 advice for the Biden administration and the Democrats: "If someone is obviously guilty, why do you have to have all this rigmarole?" (Hon. Richard Posner).

PS: Here's the link to the Posner interview:
