First day of diet today.

Slept in so I combined part of meal one and two and made a big 5 egg white +1 yolk omelet with pork sausage (smoked not breakfast), 1 cup of broccoli, and a little cheese.

I won't be eating much sausage, but damn the broccoli (frozen) tasted good when it was semi-steamed with the sausage and some garlic.

I was going to go to the gym after work but was just dead.

Tomorrow I'll try to get through my first day proper of the diet.

For exercise I have physical therapy in the morning and will try to head to the gym after work tomorrow night.

Screw it. I might just join Habitica as well.

Been really making an effort to have more health promoting behaviour, this year. So far, I've been keeping up with daily exercise, doing about an hour of walking at the park, lost a couple of kilos, given up tobacco smoking and replaced it with e-cigs. Also for the most part, have been going to sleep before midnight and waking before 11am. By far the healthiest I've been in years!

What a great amount of progress! Keep us posted!

I started working at a Planet Fitness, so my membership switched over to a free employee black card. I decided to use what I was paying for PF to get a membership at Crunch Fitness as well because they have various cardio classes/etc.

My attempts at creating healthy habits/what I'd like to work up to are:
- Stretching often, every other day at least.
- General strength training 2-4x a week
- Cardio class 3x a week (likely Zumba )
- Incorporating "juicing" to get decent veggie/fruit servings in my life.
- More consistent calorie tracking/awareness.
- Journal-posting for mental health.

I've been going back to the gym with my ESFP, but it was infrequent due to him being tired/lazy after work. He's since started classes, so it gives me extra time to just go on my own. The effort is motivating myself to go on my own - much easier going after I've worked than leaving to workout from home lol.
I've also started to use Tanning as a motivator to get to the gym so I push myself to workout and then tan afterward.
I also tend to keep a general awareness of my intake, but I would rather see it in my Sparkpeople app instead of estimations in my head. Puts it into perspective.

I intend to start the cardio classes this week, which may be a little tough as I am working between PF and my community college, but I'll be able to squeak in at Least one class. Will keep posted on what I accomplish there ;)
The "juicing" also needs to start this week. I've been eating better/lower calorie items, yet very few items that are fresh and produce. I don't really have a goal for how often, but that's the point of starting small and working up: still better than nothing.

As per my journaling, I am starting to pick it up a bit more. Still really gradual. I just don't find that I'm sorting myself enough in the "real world". I need to realize that even just a tidbit here and there is better for me and my sanity than waiting a year to make a grandiose post. In that, I somewhat lose who I am in a sense.

^as a skin cancer survivor I like all of this except the tanning. I wish PF didn't offer it. I use their water massage tables as my motivator. :)

Just saw the cardiologist. She's ordering a Ziopatch (2-week heart monitor) to see if I'm having any instances of afib, an echocardiogram to see if my heart is still basically structurally normal, and referred me to Neurology for another sleep study. Will most likely end up with a CPAP, which I'm actually looking forward to. The idea of not being tired all the time is very attractive.

I got my friends to join Habitica...

It's definitely already changing my ESTP friend's life for the better.

Hmmm... I might just have to upgrade to the black card for the hydromassage.

It's awesome. I love it, and it gets me in the door. Still way cheaper than my previous gym, too.

This thread was a perfect pick-me-up on a Tuesday morning.

It's so inspiring seeing people invest in themselves to increase their own wellbeing and health. :happy2:

Made a quinoa asian (because somehow that sounds better than soy sauce based) salad that turned out pretty good considering I made it from all the vegetable odds and ends I had. So I'll be eating that salad for the next 5 days.

After work I'm going home and cooking cinnamon toast, eggs rancheros and bacon, coffee and milk and hot tea, and serving it up with a banana. And then I'm crashing for 3 hours and wobbling my way into a class.

I'm trying to lose weight while simultaneously becoming the dragonborn.

Daily strength training- I've been pretty good with this because I love it

Daily cardio- I haven't done as much as I should but I'm getting there

Healthy eating- I'm a recovering binger in a house full of bingers so I think I'm doing okay. I recently started cooking and so far I can make baked avocado fries, some vegetables (especially mushrooms and broccoli), and eggplant parmasean.

Been fixing fruit smoothies every morning. It's nice because I don't have to rely on fresh fruit, which means less frequent trips to the grocery store, which means an easier time sticking with it. Just freezing that stuff and pulling it out is fantastic.

I also figure that if I put some healthy meals all up in there every day, to some extent it'll push (relatively) unhealthy meals out of the way. Tackling another bird with the same stone simplifies the problem. .. which again makes things easier to stick to.

This thread is full of sp-dom folks so I'm going to post this here so you all can hold my dumb sp-last self accountable:

I will not push myself too hard.

I will have the patience to enact incremental change, and not try to do everything at once.

"Sustainable" is my favorite word. Well, maybe behind "swole."
