Back home, and unpacking and generally trying to get re-adjusted to how bad my allergies are here. I've had an awful sore throat and headache from sinus pressure all day. I was pretty good about keeping up my allergy pills while away but in the chaos of traveling home forgot them the past two days.

A short, small work out tonight between GoT episodes :)

Also, I got some new spices in. They don't use salt as the first ingredient, and while there's an okay amount in it they mainly focus on spices and herbs for flavor, similar to Mrs. Dash. They're divided up by elements because that's still cool I think? Poultry (birds) for wind, fish for sea, fire for if you want something spicy, and land for beef and pork. They had some extra flavors that came with the kickstarter too, so.. we'll see. Spices are exciting to me because I'm boring.

I got stronger in Japan carrying around all my gear place to place, marching 20 minutes to hotels with 35-40 lbs of gear, walking a TON, etc. It felt pretty good to be moving around every day. It makes my current job feel sedentary...

Also, TMI stuff here for health:

My IBS did not act up nearly as much in Japan. I have a couple theories for this, the principle one being that the rice helped bulk up my tummy contents. I ate rice at least once a meal, and I never had to deal with the cramping and go-to-the-bathroom-and-then-go-right-away-again-10-minutes-later-because-Im-not-done-apparently while I was there. There was also less spicy food... and less vegetables? Yeah. Definitely less vegetables in volume compared to what I ate at home.

So... I'm going to try to continue japanese-style food once a day here. I bought an onigiri mold, some stuff to make rice cooking easier, etc. while I was there.. and I think I'll try that. If it continues to do well for me, I may have to start switching over to a primarily Japanese-style diet with fish and all.

I am way better at self control and not accidentally throwing away money or spending it wrongly on things I don't need : )

I picked up running a few weeks back. For someone who is 33lbs overweight, I ran quite fast. I completed a 2 mile run in 18 minutes.

Running isn't as bad as it seems when you constantly change your route. You see more things and it spices things up a little. The gym is so boring anyway.

It's great, I used to get hunger cravings and I'd impulse buy things right away, or get bad sugar/junk food cravings, but I don't anymore.

I can control and hold myself off and stick to the healthier choices. Oh and just in general, I've been so motivated and happy with my music playing lately, that it's given me this boost and extra ounce of drive and control.

There's nothing really getting in my way as much, it feels pretty good. I am a productive MACHINE!!!!!11111 :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting:

Or is it more like...this...?

I always stop myself from going too far, because of this:

lol I never want to lose who I am. I just want to make it so I can give up and then become a fat rich eccentric. (so much fun!!)

Did a small Tabata work out the other evening, and was surprised how sore I could get from 10 minute work outs. I think those really are an important part of a work out day... just.. 100% balls-to-the-wall dont-worry-about-making-it-through-all-the-way thing.

Fitness Marshall looks pretty fun actually! Thinking I might jam out to that a bit today after my work out :D

I've had some pretty vague goals so far.. "Do this for a while" "do this set up for a while"... I think now I want to put some more specific goals in:

- Stay hydrated:
1 large cup of iced tea (recipe in my cook book now) in the mornings when I wake up + 1 cup hot tea with breakfast
4 hospital cups of water each work shift, or
2 of my large cups of water on my days off with each of my meals.
Keep bottled water in my car and try to drink 1/2 bottle each drive I take.

This one is probably the most important to me because of my issues with headaches and chronic slight hypotension.

- Keep up my semi-healthy eating:
Ever since I got my bento boxes from Japan it's been a bit easier to eat Japanese-style.. I'm slowly transitioning into it.
Keep up my green smoothies + a piece of fruit + cereal or oats + a boiled egg ooorrrr greek yogurt for breakfasts
Bento box meals for work (I already packed all of them for this week! yay day off!) + a tupperware of salad.
Sandwiches for lunch this week because they're cold and easy to make
Celery sticks and ranch yogurt dressing, pistachios, and onigiri with tuna salad and furikake for snacks

- Keep moving:
Before I left I was doing stretches on each shift. I need to continue that trend now.
Short work outs for the next two weeks, nothing over 30 minutes, but everyday with stretching yoga being the rest day. We have a lot of stuff to get done, and I will be doing a lot of light manual labor to get it done. After I get used to moving around again I can start up with my 45m-1hr long workouts 3-4 days a week again.
Hip/glute strengthening exercises and at least 10 minutes of stretching each day as well.. After 2 weeks I can bump up the stretching again.

-Remember to take my medicine everyday @_@ I'm terrible about thinking I've done it when I haven't. I dunno how old people do it. It's literally just an allergy pill + vitamin D and K.

Looks pretty good to me!

This is why I use a pill box. The medicines I take could kill me if I take them twice, so it's essential that I don't. But when you do the same thing every day, it's hard to know if you remember doing it today because you did, or because you're remembering doing it yesterday and the day before and the day before that.

I resisted the pill box for awhile too but too many of my meds look alike (even though I don't take them every day). This is the best way for me to keep them straight. Plus I take Vitamin D, only one time a week - it's so easy to forget.

@_@ I have trouble doing fitness marshall in front of my boyfriend I realized. I dunno why.. it seems so dumb to be self conscious about it since I literally dance in front of him all the time. I think my brain is creating a stupid excuse to say no to doing something. I'll get over it. ;)

Also, deep cleaned the bedroom! Was suppose to take one day... actually took 3 days. but that's okay. I also ordered some items to help stop some of the issues we are having in it: dehumidifiers of a passive nature (see what I did there?! hahah) for the trunks and tupperwares of clothes, and a small 40 watt dehumidifier as well that I am going to experiment with in the closet area.. if it works well I'll order another for the bedroom itself.

Betty Rocker has a pretty awesome tabata set up this week that I'm enjoying. I am not hitting my goal of working out every day so far, but the rest I am doing well so I'm happy. Hydrating well, getting decent sleep, eating well.

Peaches are in season, and $2 a bucket right now. Hell Yes.
