Well, it did give us whatever this is supposed to be.

I also like tribbles... the fact that they just made (or purchased) throw pillows and overdubbed purring on to them is pretty hilarious. McCoy talks about observing their anatomical structure at one point, but let's be real, it's probably just goose down.

Some of the medical devices McCoy uses were salt shakers painted if I remember correctly. Then there’s that one same shot of the ship orbiting a world, with the planets sometimes airbrushed different colors for different episodes. And how about those cheap space suits or environmental suits they sometimes wore that looked like they were made of cheap plastic rain poncho material

I share Spock's opinion of them, though they are somewhat entertaining as viewed in a world where I don't actually have to deal with them.

They are indeed pleasing.

If I don't take better care of my cat's weight, he's going to end up resembling a tribble. I've been only given him 1.5 cans of food daily as opposed to the usual two, so hopefully that will help.

Gene Roddenberry's ghost contacted me two nights ago at my seance and he actually says that Star Trek Discovery is the only show he didn't work on that got his vision right. He also told me he suggested the idea of Jar Jar Binks to George Lucas.

I don’t buy this. Roddenberry was known to be a lecherous perv. He would’ve said something about wishing he could give Seven of Nine his seven, or something else creepy

He said that the Amazon LOTR series needs to be a musical about Tom Bombadil (mostly bringing flowers to Goldberry), in his opinion, as well.

They should have just set discovery in the 25th century. Then it wouldn’t create so many blatant continuity errors.

Vengeance, sanctimony and sadism are the new Starfleet ways. But nah, just accuse the critics of being sexist neckbeards if they try to point this out.

I think STD is the most imperialistic, pro-colonialism Trek series since the original series. A major step backwards despite the supposed progress its creators talk about.

One of the beautiful things about past Trek series is how they sometimes articulated how the supposed “good guys” should not always assume they were the good guys. The characters sometimes had to learn that their perspective of “good” and “right” might not always line up with alien cultures’ own ideas or interests.

“The Devil in the Dark” and “The Quality of Life” are great examples. “I, Borg” also jumps to mind. Picard was unwilling to use a computer virus to infect and wipe out the Borg.

Well, in an age dominated by paleoconservatism in the federal government (after the disastrous failure of the neoconservativism of the last Republican administration), some people have made the mistake of seeing imperialism and colonialism as progressive values (kind of like blah blah women in Afghanistan don't have to wear Burkas). If the media lionizes John Bolton if he testifies for the impeachment, I'm going to go nuts.

Won’t surprise me. They lionized McCain. Look, there were a lot of honorable things about McCain, like his anti-torture position when many Republicans supported torture, but at the end of the day he was a neocon who supported most of the Bush Admin’s foreign policy in the Middle East. Standing against Trump and putting country before party was great but it doesn’t wash away the rest of his career.

I think people love redemption narratives so we get all warm and fuzzy when supposed villains suddenly do the right thing
