I think it's more likely that I'm an INFP than an INFJ, and I can't say why.
I really don't think I'm either one. I don't have a cause--but then, I didn't see a lot of that on the NF forum. One thing I saw on someone's personal website was the word "magic." Nope, not me; I never thought of myself that way in the slightest.
If I run into an open cabinet door, it's most likely because I just remembered I left a pot of something simmering on the stove, and it may be boiling over, or something very in-the-present like that. I'm not usually, hardly ever, lost in thought about something imaginative.
I do identify with the idea of being vacillating and indecisive--maybe that's what it was. And I'm disorganized, maybe more than INFJs are supposed to be.
Saved for future reference: I find the abstract descriptions of these types to not be very helpful. I have trouble really picturing what the people would be like. I like it when I can find details. This sort of preference may come up in the descriptions I'll read.
BTW, if anyone happens to read these blogs and finds them boring, sorry--I wasn't writing for an audience, but just to keep track of my conclusions. I have a pile of misaligned papers on my desk and I keep scribbling in odd places. It's only going to get worse before it gets better.
So anyway, out of the first two types, I'd say INFP more than INFJ. The next one, INTJ, is probably going at the bottom of the list. The description in Please Understand Me is like a perfect description of what I'm NOT.
