Research projects you would do

I dont think anyone else does this, I keep a track of wild business ideas or research projects I'd like to do if I had unlimited resources and time.

For instance, I've read Erich Fromm's ideas about how families are the source of social character, ie that the family is the agent of reproduction of social character necessary to make society and the economy function, but I would like to study how surrogate families are either convergent or divergent with this idea.

Fromm's ideas are pretty specific because as stated there it sounds like pretty basic normative sociological observation, I'd be interested to see if surrogate families, foster families, group living placements magnify or diminish the same socialisation processes and why.

Though I'd also like to just research the validity of his own ideas too, I know a lot of early psychology and even the empirical research they were grounded on cant be reproduced and therefore lacks a certain scientific basis, if not validity itself (Bowlby made some good observations of that kind about tools from psycho-analysis and psycho-therapy in contrast to the theories like social learning or developmental psychology).

Does anyone else have projects they'd like to research?

Yes. I would like to do a study related to text mining of peoples posts and MBTI or Ennegram type.

I'd like to see that too, although I'd like to see a study of text or data mining and what that information shows and how its used.

I've got a theory that for all that's useful or has utility, in terms of marketing or selling and not just security, there's tons and tons of useless information gathered and lots of money made by bait and switchers or snake oil sales men too.

I'm undecided yet if the world wide web is a net good or bad.
