I think I will rewatch the miniseries (which i have not seen for like 20+ years) and the movies again to compare, for laughs and giggles. I am surprised the miniseries is not a free offering on ANY streaming service. you can rent it for $3-4 on Amazon and Apple. The bluray was only $7 with free shipping, so I got that instead.

Yeah. I mean, I guess I didn't check Tubi etc (although that didn't even show up in my list). I did check all the major services PLUS I even looked on Shudder.

I dont hate rings of Power. I'm not sure how much I think of it in terms of Lord of the Rings, but I think of it rather as D&D LOTR. This is the way I would want a D&D game set up to go.

Durin and Elrond scene should be required viewig for dm to get a sense of elven aging and time perception, and well the way I do gnomes at least.

I think Rings of Power is shite, but it's hilarious shite. I say that mainly because it often feels like it is written by people with no substantial knowledge whatsoever of physics or individual psychology or Tolkien's works.

I think if any of you folks were local, I'd really get down on setting up a shots game w/ a lot of hard liquor and having you all over for a Season 1 binge party.

its fantastic Shite. I can practically see me and my friends in our teens and 20's drunk on weed, and improving an entire story of how we imagined the 2nd age could go if Tolkien rules didnt apply.

I'm curious but I'm certain I would be disappointed because what I'm expecting is an adaptation of the non-First Age parts of the Silmarillion and I don't think they even have the rights for that.
