The full list of states set to see a wage increase on Jan. 1 include Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, South Dakota, Vermont, and Washington state.

Why don't we just raise the minimum wage to $100/hour. That way, we can all be rich. This is how these donkeys think.

Heaven forbid legislation be passed to try to give people working a fulltime job a livable wage. Companies look for every possible loophole to avoid having to provide benefits to people as it currently stands. Do you believe not having a minimum wage is in anyway advantageous to workers?

Will someone please think of families this will impact, such as The Waltons? This increase in operating expenses my cause them to have to go down to 4 yachts. Surely you can't support them going down to 4 yachts like a bunch of commoners, can you? Next thing you know they won't have to provide new hired employees with directions on how to apply for government aid!

Do you believe not having a minimum wage is in anyway advantageous to workers?

Libertarians don't think the government should be telling business owners how to run their business. It's a property rights and a personal liberty issue, but beyond that, it's just a stupid idea that destroys job opportunities.

A business might be willing to hire a teenager to bag groceries as a summer job for $5/hour. The teen would appreciate the spending cash and maybe learn some good work habits. At $15, that business would never hire a teen to bag groceries and so many tens of thousands of job opportunities are lost.

The first minimum wage laws were instituted to protect union workers from competition from unskilled laborers, mostly black workers. At a very low wage, low-skilled workers got an opportunity to work cheap but develop the skills so they could make more money later. The minimum wage laws killed those chances.

The Democrat/socialist argument is that every job needs to pay a living wage. That's just stupid. Flipping burgers should not be a career but rather a stepping stone to better jobs.
