The Republicans are pushing Kennedy in order to create a mess on the Democratic side. However through this they are risking the creation of a man that they probably can't beat with none of their candidates. Not mention that he could cost them many seats across the country.

Am I am missing something ?
They are not serious people.

No you're not missing anything. He's been an anti-vax, disinformation spreader for some time. He also appears to be a Nazi fan. None of the Kennedy family is supporting him and outside of the people already residing in conspiracy crazy town, no one is going to vote for him. That said, I'm certain the right is pushing him to some degree but he'll never survive he primary. The DNC will assassinate him, possibly literally.

Can you even imagine the sheer amount of heads that would just up and explode if that actually happened. It would be like somebody flipped a switch that caused conniption fits in wackadoo brains.

Yeah, some of his talking points don't sound like they are coming from the democratic party. Thus he never made too much sense to me in a sense of what he is actually trying to do. Plus I could buy him as some kinda of a spoiler candidate against Williamson. But yes, "shoot the Kennedy" is evidently an old and tested political method.

We will see.
Since this only means that most people got fairly resistant, not that the threat for everybody is totally over. This just mean that "red alert" phase is over.
Thus I hope it will stay like that since we all really need to get onward with our lives.
imo all this means is that everyone is going to start doing their damnedest to pretend like there's not an elephant in the room...again...just because it feels "normal" to do that and everyone wants to feel "normal".

Taking Sides in Other People's Elections: The Polarizing Effect of Foreign Intervention. Daniel Corstange (University of Maryland) and Nikolay Marinov (Yale University).
What do voters think when outside powers become de facto participants in a country’s election? We conceptualize two types of foreign intervention: a partisan stance, where the outsider roots for a particular candidate slate, and a process stance, where outsiders support the democratic process. We theorize that a partisan outside message will polarize partisan actors domestically on the issue of appropriate relations with the outsiders: partisans who are supported will want closer relations with the outside power, and partisans who are opposed will favor more distant relations. A process message, in contrast, will have a moderating effect on voters’ attitudes. We present evidence of partisan polarization along those lines from a survey experiment we conducted in Lebanon in the wake of the 2009 parliamentary elections. We discuss the implications of our findings for future studies of how outsiders can encourage moderate electoral outcomes in democratizing states.

The US has been interfering in other countries elections for so long, any comment on foreign interference on our elections is laughable hypocritical.

Yes, however with creation of internet as it is today that interference has become unavoidable on all sides.
Therefore the only question left here is how much structure there will be in this "interference".

My Response is more in that vein. If you know what to look for its plain as day. Countries don't have integrity they have interests. I always think of that big international poker game where everyone is cheating... and thank the gods that the us government already owns the oil here or everything that's happening here, we'd have to invade ourselves to bring democracy and blue jeans to all these oppressed by religious extremists... But yeah it makes me laugh too. Ruefully.

Everyone is spying
on everyone, too. I don't think most people know that and I found it pretty mindblowing.

Not only that, politicians from various countries actually hang out together. What can pass on various info and ideas.
Just today I posted that article about that conservative gathering abroad in the other thread. What is exactly how you end up with "the type of candidate we have never seen before". Things today are simply quite fluid and "think alike people" are gathering into various international groups, clubs, associations .... etc.

It's really hilarious when you factor in that we've somehow managed to inculcate a culture of confession and turning the average person into assets in a way that Torquemada would envy. Nobody spies on the citizens of the us like the US does. And to think some believe that the CIA has no sense of humor. But yeah, the best beeswax to mind seems to belongs to other people and everyone knows it at least subconsciously. They even found a way to get the anti facial recognition people to be against wearing face masks; its kinda brilliant if horrifying.
