Ive always wondered what sorts of predators in the water do y'all worry about in the Great Lakes areas?
I'd say sea lampreys are the #1 predator. They're horrible and do great damage to the native fish species. The Great Lakes also have invasive things brought by sea going ships like Asian carp or zebra mussels. There are several methods used to lessen and eliminate them. As far as threats to humans, honestly, it's the waters themselves.

Wow, they seem like a real plague.
I would hate to think what would happen if funding were cut from this key infrastructure.
A marketing campaign for how delicious they can be or rekindle them as an upper class delicacy wouldn't hurt either.

I became a proud American Toad keeper.

Love these guys, because when hunting they wiggle their back toes.
