Voicemail: "Hi its T [my fiance], its raining here. I cant believe it. Your mom said something like if it rains on a wedding its a sign its not supposed to be. I am so stressed and upset. Maybe we should just call it off. Call me as soon as you get this message.

Me calling: "Hi babe its me. Don't worry I checked the weather forecast and it will be drying up by 8:30 AM. Don't sweat it; everything will be fine...just proceeding on schedule. It never rains in Santa Barbara during Fiesta.

Her: "How can you be so calm!?"

Me: "Everything will work out. It always does"

I hang up the phone and go back to bed.

9:00 AM
Voicemail from my fiance: I'm at the park and its still raining.

Me looking up at the sky from my patio as I mix the chicken and porterhouse steak marinades with brow mixed with sweat and raindrops. "God, please, I really need a favor. I know I have been questioning your existence the last few months but please, please make it stop raining!

So it’s almost time for the wedding and I am running short. I still need to pick up more ice and a large order of French bread from the bakery. Its a few minutes to p.m. and the wedding invites said p.m. The bakery calls and asks if I am going to pick up my order of 15 loves which I was scheduled to pick up at 11 am. I say I am on my way but my ENFP dad says not to worry he will pick up the bread and ice.

I have not seen my ISFP fiancé this morning as we both agreed to stick to the tradition of not seeing each other on the day of the wedding. She procrastinates more than I and she was actually planning to show up fashionably late. I tell her no, to show up on time, at least try. My ISTJ friend has done a great job in helping my fiancé and sister with the set up. He is now at my folk’s house to chauffer me to the wedding.

We get to the sight a lush and beautiful park in an affluent community. There is a trellised walkway nearby which the bride is to walk under during the bridal march. I recall as a child I imagined my wedding occurring there.

I pop out of the car and watch as friends and acquaintances of various social circles in my live steadily approach me to greet. It’s a bit overwhelming but I am prepared. My strategy is to talk and move. I introduce one person who wishes to talk to me to another person attempting to do the same.

Time passes quickly but the priest and the guests are clear to remind me that the bride has not arrived. It’s now 2:00 pm and the wedding was to start at 1:00!

I am thinking maybe I shoud just send out some standard thank you cards (maybe include some pictures) and then work on my blog and then perhaps give a follow up letter.
