Hi Everyone. Just signed up because I don't know of ANY NFs that I can talk with this matter. But then again, I don't think I'm good with Type Watching.
I've met 2 INFPs in my life, both of them male and around similar age (I'm 25). One was a TOTAL D-bag to me and my friends for no reason except that we didn't drink alcohol as fast as he wanted us to and the other seems like a life guru, very nice guy. Other than that, my (very small) circle of friends mainly include INTJs and other NTs. Great people only once you get to know them
I recently learned of MBTI and fascinates me after reading Type Watch. There's my MBTI background.
Anyways, I've dated an INTP for a while and really liked her, but had to pull out because of our huge religious differences - surprised she's atheist & I'm devout?
Also dated a fair share of ESFPs (so many of them happen to be in my life) who are very fun only at first, only to realize how much of a diva they really are
. For a P, they make me feel like an _STJ...
Now, I'm really in love with a childhood friend of mine. Seriously, I don't know how to typewatch her (she MIGHT be an Introvert), but let's safely assume she's NOT an ENFJ. Here's the conundrum: I REALLY love her. I don't want her to see anyone else. We aren't exactly going out with each other, but I have a feeling that if I ask her out, 99% I'll be so emotionally entangled with her. Maybe she will too
On the other hand, I keep hearing that the ideal mate for the INFP is the ENFJ or ESFJ (ugh! I have 2 female co-workers that are ESFJ. VERY lovely, but they can become loud, fragile babies). I don't think I have ever met the female ENFJ (or even any ENFJs) and as an INFP, I'm in the situation where I (feel like) have to make a "Life-Changing" decision. Wish I can do both, but can choose one.
1) Wait for the ENFJ to pop up in my life --- I'll go through Match.com if I have to!
2) Pursue my childhood friend (for other INFPs, if this is important, she's a virgin until marriage, Top-Of-The-Line family background, a 7/10, identical religion, and most of all mentally healthy. The only downside is that she seems introverted more often than not and I am VERY attracted to extroverts)
So, what would you do without regret in this situation?
Thanks for reading. Also, great to see other INFPs are out there
