One thing I find quite comforting about this is that no one can rep me here.
I really don't care about it. I know, I know, "why do you leave it up there if you don't care? Why don't you make it that little black line?"
Well, dimwit, the rep system is so worthless that I can't be bothered to turn it off. I don't look there anyway. It displays the same aggregation of pixels every day anyway.
I told me CRT to stop making that face or else it will stick that way. Just google that joke. And that one.
Actually some of the comments you yuks give me are pretty cool, and knowing I've got a bit of respect isn't bad either.
I'm not one of those softy wimps who pretends that there's nothing gratifying about impressing someone else. Despite what these new-age idiots are always clamoring about (ironic if you ask me), "what you think of yourself" is not always most important. I'll say it's a pretty big thing, but you can't coast through life on your own introverted fuels all the time. Humans don't work that way.
We're a social species. We do depend on the reactions of others. You can fight it all you want. It's not going to happen.
And I do fight it. I'll admit it, I'm a damn hypocrite. Doesn't make me a bad person, just means I'm irritated by most people. But that's different. Hating others and being hated is different.
I have no problem being appreciated, I just don't care as much as most if I'm hated as well. Many of my biggest enemies are my best friends. Go figure that one out.
