Time and time again I've heard how there is no way I could be an INFJ personality type because I was too outgoing, too bubbly, not 'emo' enough, not quiet enough etc. Then of course over a long enough duration of time people on PerC stopped inquiring as to what my type was, because I'd like to think it just became ... apparent. Of course there's the possibility that they just let it be. On occasion I notice people who don't present as "INFJ" but that is more because that in particular post or moment in time, they're exhibiting a part of themselves that resonates with Fi or some other cognitive function not compatible with the INFJ's cognitive stack. I pretty much don't care though. Because I realize it's such a short snap shot/glimpse in time and so the thought as to them not being their type is as fleeting as the blink of an eye. Really. It's just not that important for me, especially if I don't know the person, don't plan on knowing them and most importantly, they aren't asking!
When I joined this forum I had a purpose in mind and so no doubt fell prey to my typical stupidity of brashness. whatever. it happens. and once again, I'm grilled as to what my type is because people find this important. I was informed that this is all, "serious business". ummm okay. why? what difference does it make that someone else isn't who YOU think they should be?
MBTI and ENNG is for our personal awareness and growth of ourselves. Why do I care what you do? As far as I'm concerned, it's quite equivalent to someone who cheats on a diet. The only one who is suffering is them. Why do you care? Actually, I like that analogy! This is like a fitness diet forum, and then people join and say they're on the paleo diet, or the atkins diet etc. and then someone points a finger and says, "NO! you don't look like your the paleo diet! You eat junk food!" ... lol! OKAY! ... why the fuck do you care if someone is on their diet or not? If they want to lose weight they will, They'll eventually find the best balanced diet and fitness program that works for them (that's accurate enough that they get the results) --> OF GROWTH in our case of MBTI / ENNG. So what is the big deal with everyone! It's preposterous just HOW many people who are into typology are so incredibly ignorant to the mere fact that it is NOT about THEM or the 'community', it's about the person who wants to be typed and find their way towards further introspection and personal growth. The importance of the community is to find a group of caring people open to helping others navigate their way when they ask for it. Instead, unfortunately, it smells nasty cult-ish and the sanctimonious typology upon high will place their judgement upon YOU.
Honestly, not a fan of people who take this business THAT serious so as to impose their knowledge in such a way that disregards other people's "person". This isn't to negate the fact that accuracy is important. Just that that importance is a choice of the individual. What I'm speaking of here is a matter of understanding your place .... a lesson I learned very harshly and so I'm an advocate to spare you the burn when you've realized what a sucky person you were to impose your rigidness of others in an in-compassionate way. Although, not every type might not feel this as a burn upon realization. I guess for me, whether it be my type or enng or my soul, it burned because that is absolutely the opposite of what I want. and when people are cognizant of what they want, they grow. hurting people is by an large a fear of mine. It hurts to think of hurting people. and I just can't help to feel compelled to voice my outrage that in attempts to help people within this community, all too often people end up hurting each other. I've debated making rant videos but to be honest, I haven't the courage. (although I always try to push my limits with posting pics or want not) videos are so mainstream, in your face, in the spotlight - I envy the INFJ's that have reached such a place so as to be incredibly comfortable being in the spot light. I just can't do it, for now.
Final thought is what I was initially wanting to post here prior to this diatribe, lol! Someone here sent me this quiz. I've thought of posting it in a thread and I was invited to PM him the results. but because I really don't care what other people think, I don't see the benefit of hiding my results. So I thought it might be a lovely idea to post it in a blog post. This way, when people want to question my type, they have something to do it with. and then, they can feel special about themselves that they're smart at least with SOMETHING. Because as we know, assuming we know who someone is, is incredibly brilliant! as in genius
So next blog post will be that.
