So obviously from my Victoria Winters avatar, I am watching Dark Shadow's from the beginning of series. I never could get into it as a child, I never had patience for much TV then. I preferred to read.
However, it was when my sisters were watching Dark Shadows that I first saw something from the 1700's/early 1800's in the time travel/flashback episodes and the scene pierced me through. I knew I wanted to know more about that time period, I felt a calling in my heart like I wanted to be able to interject myself into that time period and felt a deep sense of failing and despair that I knew I never could. A strange deep nostalgia for I time I can never be a part of. So that was my start with being fascinated with history.
Then I saw the movies about the Bronte sister's novels and felt the same gnashing longing to disappear into the past. Very strange. No one else in my family even really likes history much.
