Ne users -- your take on instinct?

We all know that Ni users often trust their instincts -- the product of subconscious brain processes -- and it often works out.

What do you Ne users think about using instinct this way? I can't seem to get a handle on it tbh. There are too many biases or unfounded gut reactions that I have to cloud my snap judgements (eg. skepticism when I'm feeling low). I have to consciously think things out. What about you?
