Been rewatching this with my son, who is watching for the first time.

Okay, I'm blown away now. Esmail drops a crucial sequence from the finale in a mid-season episode of Season 1. BOOM. it's easy to overlook because you don't have any sense of its context or importance. same music. same visuals. Somewhat different dialogue... until right near the end of the scene and it cuts out. Crazy. So he was tossing in a few things that wouldn't have significance for a few years.
