Confirmation bias is the key phrase. When I think about the way Myers applied Jung's functions to her Temperament system, it makes me want to cry, because it's so wrong, and so many people went along with it.
I haven't done experiments and recorded data, and I don't have statistics to show you, but I can show you where I have found mistakes, or a better way, and you might think it makes sense. Who knows?
Yes, there we go - confirmation bias. I was trying to bring up this exact point to BlueWing in another thread regarding overview of Typology, but, he didn't seem to get what I was getting at (maybe using the term will help clear up my point).
And, another bias that I think plays a great part is overattribution effect.
I'd like to know what 'mistakes' you feel was made, and how you think it coulda been done better.
And, as an example of your method, maybe, it'll help explain if you can outline your thought-process within your system:
E.g.,
How you come up with the workings of *your* system, to say, get ENFP for me. Why N over S? P over J? E over I? F over T? Or, maybe you'll challenge the premise of asking such questions in the first place to figure out personality.
We'll take it from there.
