I don't understand myself.

It's 11:24 and I'm listening to a little Bob Seger. There's a lot of stuff that I could be thinking about, but I'm just not one of those people that thinks about pressing problems. Instead I think about ones that may not even be there.

For as long as I can remember I have felt strange towards people, and it's probably not even in the introverted type of way. That is to say that I would be more extroverted if I understood people, and more importantly, myself. And this is what I've been thinking about.

It's a strange feeling to be introverted. I don't really have an urge to be around people. I enjoy speculating on things involving the social realm without participating in it with skill. My self reflectiveness is stunted. In this respect I don't know how I come across to people.

So how is it to be a person trying to understand those around him without knowing his own tendencies and personality?

Not too much, just guitar playing. I'm usually uncompetitive. I guess I feel that if I don't participate in the first place I can't lose.

Did I answer that correctly?

I enjoy speculating on things

:nice:

I think I hear what you're saying, especially the part about how you come across to people. I find it frustrating, because you can't really come out and say, in civilized conversation, "How am I coming across to you." It's what should be done, because then we would learn and grow. But it's just not proper or something. On the other hand, emotional intelligence is very important for success, so this creates a catch-22 type of situation.

Anyway, I'm seriously working on how I come across to people (although I'm using the Enneagram much more than MBTI as I work on this) so I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts if you continue to ponder and observe along these lines... :bye:
