I REALLY hope someone can help, because if not I am gonna

There was this funk song from the late 70s or early 80s that I liked a lot and now I want to download it but cannot find the title by searching for the lyrics.

The words went like this:

Ready, ready, yes I am , ready ready

and then something about

They taught us to dance in outer space,
calling, calling, I am calling down to you and are you ready

ready ready, yes I am ready...

If anyone can supply the group who did the song, I will personally issue you a homebaked, virtual, online chocolate chip cookie of your very own. :wubbie:

Something by George Clinton?

Is it 70s Funk or 80s Funk?

I am not sure. sounds right at the apex between 70's and 80's, very electronic sound. They play it during the Sat night old school party, but I never manage to catch them saying what it is.

I searched for it so much, trying to figure out who did it and what the exact title is, it is driving me crazy!

It isn't D'Train. I know that much, but it has a lot of the same sound as their "You're the One for Me"

Try George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic.

Classic funk. My favorite song would be She's A Bad Mama Jama

See now Protean said George Clinton and for some reason I thought I had already looked. I will go search Paraliment's stuff and if its there, I will give virtual cookies to both Protean and Parabola. :)

I think it is "Star Child--Mothership Connection" but the sample doesn't sound like it at first..okay it's just one buck so I will see. :D

Profuse apologies to Protean!

I grew up in that era Heart, but that sounds nothing like funk that I ever heard. Give us some more hints.

Well, I cannot find the lyrics online so hard to give more clues. It does sound a bit like D'train and a bit like Parliment or Lakeside but as far as I can tell, it is by neither one of them. It is like electronic funk.

It is played during the "old school" party on the radio on Sat nights, so maybe I am remiss in calling it funk. I didn't major in music!

Hi heart! I've just discovered your blog! I have a music service that I pay a monthly fee for which lets me listen to any song I want at any time, so before you pay a dollar again, let me know the name of the song and I can listen to it for you first and tell you if it's the song you want before you waste a dollar.

I heard this song played twice on the radio since I posted this and both times I was not able to access the computer and they didn't say what it was.

That doesn't sound familiar to me, but I only listened to Pop music when I was a kid.
