I just read Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls. It's a biography of the author's grandmother, Lily Casey Smith. It was really good. (I read it in one night.) I'm going to read her other book, The Glass Castle.
It was inspirational, and definitely made me realize that my problems are small. She lost a friend (in a factory accident), a sister (due to suicide), a milking cow and a house during the Great Depression, and another house in a tornado. Kind of makes my mushroom loss seem silly. Especially as I was fine before I got them. And by being tough and smart, she survived everything and did ok.
She (the main character) inspired me to be productive, practical, and assertive. Even though I stayed up late reading when I could have been studying Japanese or writing a paper, I think it was worth it.
I've decided I like biographies.
I think she is EXTJ, her mother is ESFJ, her father is INTP, her sister is INFP, and her daughter is ENFP.
