Goodness... restrictions galore this morning!
Restriction 1 - my brother and I were about to board the train as usual, when all of a sudden the doors were about to close! Turned out that the train personnel tried to close them too early.
I said "Hell no!" (which earned a few laughs in the crowd) and ended up holding one side of the door open so that the rest of us passengers could board.
Restriction 2 - I tried registering for CS 455 (an elective course in my major) once I reach campus (registration has opened today for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 4th year undergrads). I got a "Prerequisite Error", since I still have to take the prerequisite course CS 450, and I'd been registering for both at the same time. So I went to my first academic adviser in order to override the restriction and register for that course.
Restriction 3 - I was locked out of my TA office. I thought it was a problem with the door again, but this time it was because my ID card was acting up (which I didn't realize until after one of the CS department women opened the door with her own card). At least I know now, and will try to keep that in mind in the future.
Lesson #3: When life gives you unfair restrictions, use your head. [Sometimes literally.
