Okay, so I've been doing quite a bit of running - both physical and mental - today, with the first being somewhat easier to handle than the second.
Managed to run for a total of about 7.5 miles this morning, in preparation for the half-marathon in May.
It took a good amount of effort for me to keep up with my dad's pace. I tried to keep myself more optimistic during that time in a number of different ways, including coming up with this in my head: ♪♫ Makin' my way downtown, with my dad, he's gonna make me run like mad... da-na-na na-na-na na! ♫♪ (Anyway, thanks for the motivation, dad.
)
I also had two assignments due by midnight. For most of the afternoon, I frantically tried working on both simultaneously, but found that I couldn't complete either of them that way. So I ended up focusing on one of the assignments, sacrificing the time I could have spent on the other. (I just hope my professor will accept the other assignment late.
)
LESSON #1: Motivate yourself to keep going... and don't put off things that have a high priority in your life.
