Germany — National parliament voting intention

Here we are, the far right AfD has reached the center left SPD in the polling average. Actually the last couple of dots (polls) actually favor AfD over SPD, however the average is to some degree inert.

Poland — National parliament voting intention

This will be drama, the democratic forces want to remove far right from the office but in the process they are risking that they create a coalition of far right and ultra far right. Which could have enough to govern. Now they together have 47% in the polls and the country has a certain gerrymander bias and small parties don't make it over the line that provide any seats (so those votes don't materialize). So what the polling suggests is exactly this combination far right and ultra far right.

Spain — National parliament voting intention

Next month the country is going to polls and if result end like this it should create center right + far right government. Plus the line for far left Podemos has stopped, what suggests that the party has dissolved (they had internal problems and thus major drop in support ).

EPP chief Weber denies ‘blackmailing’ MEPs ahead of knife-edge Green Deal vote

Plus the green new deal is also under pressure.

As I said the war in Ukraine and general state of the world have blown up good portion of the consensus in Europe. Therefore now we have completely new game to play. While globalization was bringing in the some benefit people were willing to overlook certain issues. However now that global order has completely cracked there is simply some new dynamic and reality. This is probably why on the level of whole union the free market centrists are losing ground, since the wheel of globalization got broken. Therefore now there is the game of fortification in play, what can be clearly seen in the right wing and nationalist tilt.

There is more but I think all of this is enough for now.

Plus we can add this one as a continuation of the last post.

EU’s trade ideals face ‘economic security’ reality check

The European Commission is preparing to ditch its long-held free-market ideals as geopolitics and U.S.-China competition elbow their way into the picture.
The idea is to try to create an EU recipe for “economic security,” a Cold War-era concept that former U.S. President Donald Trump revived and has since mushroomed across the world.

The era of endlessly free trade and cosmopolitan EU is evidently coming to an end. That just isn't realistic principle anymore and that will to some degree be replaced with protectionism and "EU nationalism". The public mood seem to be there to make it happen.
