Putin vowed to protect pro-Russia Moldovan region, its leader says

If another region starts to brake away Moldova would be basically falling apart in practical sense.
What is kinda the same what was done in Georgia, which never really recovered after losing 2 regions to Russia.
In other words if a country is too much of a territorial mess it's path towards EU and NATO are much harder. Both in legal and practical sense.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out (assuming it ever proceeds). It may prove more difficult for Israel to blockade the port and stop ships from docking than for it to block trucks at land crossings, but it seems they could do it if they are so inclined. But I've seen video of Israeli ships firing on Palestinans rowing out to try and fish, so they are clearly patrolling the area.

Not to mention all the other issues mentioned in the article regarding policing and distributing the aid.

Makes me wonder if this is just political theater.

I don't have a problem with this. I'm tired of the interests of only the wealthy being represented, and nobody else getting a seat at the table because it will "trickle down". Biden is playing this kind of thing the right way, unlike some other Democratic poiticians.

Of course you don't have a problem with this. Pretty much everyone average and normal doesn't.
However this is open proof that completely unregulated globalization is over. The supply chains have become too complex and often illogical. Therefore now the clock is going backwards regarding this issue.

Portugal election: Democratic Alliance claim victory

Portugal swings right in knife-edge snap election

Messy election results in Portugal. Making the government out this is basically mission impossible. What means that there could be new snap elections soon. Some countries in Europe had to repeat the elections a few times before they could form a coalition government. In other words when far right gets plenty of votes that makes the combinations tricky if you want to leave them out of the government.

From earlier today.
It seems that there could be some massive changes in the UK. Since with this it is becoming questionable who exactly will be the main party on the right in UK.

Polling average United Kingdom

Reform is third and it is rising.
They aren't that far from the Tories and closer they get it will be easier for voters to switch the party.

Macron furious after French commissioner blasts von der Leyen

Romanian centrist lawmakers won’t back von der Leyen

Brussels vs. Brussels: EU Parliament to sue Commission over Hungary cash

Stuff like these really open the question: will she have enough hands in the parliament for the second mandate.
The radicals on the left and right evidently wouldn't support her. Therefore if divisions start in mainstream-centrists zones that opens some valid questions on the basis if she will manage to get second mandate as top EU executive. Or if she wouldn't then who is the alternative.

Of if you want it in plain English: Biden is perhaps loosing one of his top allies on the global stage (on individual level).
