In Aleksei-land, not putting butter on waffles is grounds for execution.

depends i suppose i don't like maple syrup

my room mate made them i can post the recipe she used

3 cups flour
5 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 can solid pack pure pumpkin
3 eggs,lightly beaten
2 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup melted butter

In large bowl whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside. mix beaten eggs and brown sugar in seperate bowl. add pumpkin and milk-mix well. add melted butter and mix again. Add pumpkin mixture to flour mixture, stir to mix, do not beat. add mixture to preheated waffle iron cook til done

Sounds AMAZING.

It doesn't make or break waffles for me. When I think of waffles, I think sweet, so syrup is the necessity here. With butter, I think of a nice flaky roll or some free restaurant bread.

Waffles without butter are waffles not worth having.

Also, what's up with all these weird maple syrup haters? It is practically the backbone of the Canadian economy!

My neighbor makes some damn good maple syrup but he charges way too little for a bottle.

You're supposed to microwave the butter and syrup together and drizzle/drench your waffle accordingly.

Noobs.

This is the way...

How expensive is expensive? I'm willing pay for quality....within reason..

I'm not sure what's up with all these weirdos eating dry pancakes, though.

Either butter and syrup or cream cheese and honey. What? Don't knock it til you try it!

The Kirkland brand maple syrup from Costco is excellent and reasonably priced.
