I am probably the only person on the face of the Earth who experiences this abnormal jealousy. Girl thing? INFP thing? I don't know.
Anyway, my abnormal jealousy lies in the fate of late rocker Syd Barrett. The former Floyd frontman who was deported from the group because of his declining mental condition. I am very physically attracted to him, and also feel like I have a special connection with him that I've enver had with any other musicians.
But, for some reason, I get so jealous and overprotective of him. I mean, when I go on his Facebook fan page and see girls posting things like "I love you Syd! You're so beautiful! Rest in peace!" It really upsets me. I mean, if other guys want to be into him and his music, that's great, but no, I am the only girl who is allowed to love him.
Now, no other girl that I know personally likes Syd, or has even heard of him, which is great. It makes me feel like I am unique. But for some reason I get paranoid and obsess over weather or not one girl would like him. When I see these girls writing things on his Facebook wall it makes me extremely envious. I go so far as to say "No, no, no I am the biggest FEMALE Barrett fan! I have all of his albums and bootlegs, you will never love him like I do." Or "Adult females can like him and his music, but no girl of my age can like him or his music."
I know it sounds psychotic, and it probably is. I have no idea why it gets me so jealous. I mean, it's not like any of those girls have a better chance of ever being with him than I do, I mean...He's dead. What's gonna happen? Is he going to rise up from the dead and say "You're right, I like you a lot better than her."? Unlikely.
It's not just in Syd's case. It was the same when I was going through my Green Day phase, only back then it was way worse because lots of girls liked them. When I went through my Aerosmith phase, it was also the same. Not a lot of girls my age liked them, but the ones that did better prepare to be demolished. It's the same thing with Syd. It's all really an illusion. I mean, maybe not as much girls like him as I think. Or they only like his music, but they're not really physically attracted to him or vice versa.
Or, maybe I just have too much time on my hands and should get over it...
