I don't think that shaming people about their weight is the way to go, but I do think that too many people consider any discussion about weight loss with someone "shaming" them. It shouldn't be a taboo thing to discuss just because people feel bad about it.
There are obviously genetic/medical issues which make weight loss/gain difficult for some people, but I have to say that either people in the U.S. just have abnormally horrible genetics or there's something else causing the problem.
It can be difficult in America, I think, just because of the way everything is set up. Our lifestyle/economy is really not conducive to staying fit/healthy, which means that people generally have to be more motivated to actually make a change than other places. You don't necessarily have to be a lazy gluttonous piece of shit to get fat like you do in some places in the world. You just have to not work out regularly or carefully watch what you eat, basically, which can be a pain in the ass.
