For whatever reason I was just thinking that my instinctual variant is somewhat reflected in how I play cooperative games. Specifically, I was thinking about how I play Left 4 Dead 2.

I know I'm a bit strange, so I'm not sure if this would work for most/all people.
Long story short (TL;DR version)... Do you think that how people play cooperative video games (or games in general) can be a fairly reliable indicator of what their instinctual variant is?
Sp first:
I will generally only help you if it is beneficial to myself, or at least not detrimental to my own well being. My med-kit is mine (in most cases), so don't expect it if you've eaten through yours already. No, I will not help you if you've smacked the witch in the face after alerting a horde. And perhaps most telling of all, gods help you if I view you as a threat to my well-being. Many a survivor has found themselves staring down the barrel of my shotgun after stealing med-kits or causing too much friendly fire damage.

Exceptions to the above can be found if you are someone I care more about, usually a "friend" or relative. Usually someone whom I met somewhere else, be it another location on the internet, or in real life. Those people I may go out of my way for, assuming they aren't doing dumb things intentionally.

I care very little for making friends on that game, if I do, that's great, but I'm not going to go out of my way to do so. Heck, I don't really talk much in that game either. Also, I can write off members of my team fairly easily in that game. I won't try to kick them, but I pretty much cease caring about them.
