If I'd won that billion dollar lottery, holy shit would I be having fun right now - creating a PAC to create a "news source" that reports on Bailey being caught creating child pornagraphy, and police reports of driving under the influence of cocaine while receiving oral sex from one of the child sex workers he keeps trapped in his basement.

I'd also include acts of heroism of the people released because of SAFE-T; they'd be saving puppies, rescuing kids from burning buildings, and preventing mass shootings left and right.

Has anyone else outside illinois been getting these shitty political ads that are disguised as a newspaper? I'm livid about them. The name is changed according to the county it's delivered in - there's an emphasis on it being "local news" - but it's the same fucking ad underneath the name. "Real data. Real value. Real news." Delivered for free, unrequested, to absolutely every residence - without a single advertisement in any of them. Loaded with blatant disinformation; mostly about trans kids getting mutilated, Pritzker putting dangerous criminals out on the streets (SAFE-T act), and public schools "failing."

There isn't a single mention in these fucking things about whose paying for them. Isn't that illegal? This "weekly news" started six weeks ago, and I assume the timing is intentional - they wanted enough time to effectively fear-monger, but didn't want to allow enough time for legal problems to harm credibility.

I haven't watched the "defense" they posted on YouTube. I've read a couple stories covering it when it first started happening, and seeing people defend it by saying "like MSM isn't biased" is depressing enough.

Bailey (Pritzker's opponent) isn't as aggressively ignorant as Walker, but he's still dumb as a post. He's stated that he hasn't seen any indication that crime guns in Illinois are coming from Indiana (there's such a clear, easily provable trail of it that Chicago started a lawsuit against a single gun store responsible for (I want to say 20%?) a lot of it), and that Pritzker is focusing on guns too much and not enough on border security ( ...in Illinois).

If we get Bailey as a governor - if we have to deal with this absolutely moronic GOP puppet-to-big-money-source bullshit in Illinois - I'm really going to lose my shit.
Not a newspaper exactly but a lengthy magazine. I wish I had kept it to show you but most of it was the same crime bullshit (violent and property crimes continue to decrease but no right winger is going to read actual crime stats) and the three candidates that will "save" us from crime. Anyone that has taken even a casual glance at the Republicans running for Sec. of State, AG and Governor in Michigan will see they are all batshit.

The woman running against Whitmer really is pure batshit. As shitty as Bailly is, I would REALLY be losing my mind if that's what I had to be afraid of right now.

The upside is that Proposal 3 - making a state constitutional right to reproductive freedom. All matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care - is on the ballot. But the one running for governor, no one knows who she is. It's all about how much she looks like Gretchen, that's why she was chosen by the GOP. And after the initial screaming and crying from the GOP during the primary - not much came of it. I'll be back working the polls on election day.

Having seen this from several perspectives over the years...it all always seems to go the same way. Gaslight and blood.

"...If you do get laid off in the coming recession, who do you want in power, one party is very much pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, looking at making social security discretionary, people just need to get back to work, very much against "entitlements" as they call them. And the other party tends to support social safety nets of the sort you would use if you got laid off..."

You must choose, but choose wisely, for as the true grail brings you life...the false grail...takes it from you...

Again, there is no one that hates Americans more than right wing Americans.

The report describes attempts by top officials to link protesters to an imaginary terrorist plot in an apparent effort to boost Trump’s reelection odds, raising concerns now about the ability of a sitting president to co-opt billions of dollars’ worth of domestic intelligence assets for their own political gain. DHS analysts recounted orders to generate evidence of financial ties between protesters in custody; an effort that, had they not failed, would have seemingly served to legitimize President Trump’s false claims about “Antifa,” an “organization” that even his most loyal intelligence officers failed to drum up proof ever existed.

I don't think Elon Musk is nearly as intelligent as people think he is. He has business sense and the ability to latch onto intelligent people and take credit for their work.

He has a tell. It's the women he chooses and declares to be intelligent. They're not. If he were a genius, he'd realize it. He is a conman similar to Elizabeth Holmes, but he hasn't gotten caught because instead of trying to invent a magic box, he latches onto to others who actually have done it, uses them, and takes the credit.

edit: My point is that his work would put him in the company of a lot of brilliant women, some of whom would genuinely care about colonizing Mars, or designs for electric cars, programmers developing new approaches to AI or other technological advances. Instead he only dates celebrity women like Amber Heard and Grimes. He thinks they are brilliant. I like Grimes, but what she produces is not brilliant, and Amber Heard can recite some Ayn Rand, but she is not brilliant by any means. A genius would probably find real conversations with another genius to be relaxing. I think he is very, very similar to Elizabeth Holmes, but has a protocol that functions in society.

There is no reason for him to actually be intelligent. He was born wealthy, he didn't start Tesla or invent its technology (Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning did) and paid $6M to become the largest shareholder in 2008 and made himself CEO. He also had a $6B in funding from the USG. I have never understood the Musk fanboys - dude is a grifting clown. Oh and one of his disciples just destroyed the economy of El Salvador with the crypto ponzi scheme.

Is it wrong to want to keep calling her Lauren Gogurt? ... god rest her soul. Not.

Meanwhile, I don't live in PA anymore but I'm pleasantly surprised and happy.

lol there really is so much to laugh at but so much is concerning. But Ohio and Florida, smh. JD Vance wrote a book explicitly saying how lazy and stupid rural Ohioans are. And they voted for him. Some dumb mfers right there. But great job to John Fetterman - now we can work on the Pritzker/Fetterman Big Boy ticket. And the progressives winning all over the place, which should be an obvious thing for the DNC to start running on. But they won't and they'll keep running recycled candidates and spend millions on runs that are never going to win no matter what. Move left, pass laws that help the majority of people. This is not rocket science.

The media and pollsters greatly underestimated how sick of Republican/GOP/conservatives and their bullshit people actually are. Oh and at least here in Michigan, theocracy lost with the passage of Prop 3. No laws based on biblical interpretation, thank you very much. Abortion, contraception, IVF and reproductive health care will be codified into the Constitution.

The John Fetterman thing makes me so happy. I feel like that illustrated best the conflict within American society. The outcome sorta validates my hypothesis about the best way to resolve it.

Also love the Pritzker win. I saw all kinds of ridiculous signs, and yes those newspapers that were mentioned earlier.

Trump had endorsed more than 330 GOP candidates running for both state and federal office in this election cycle, but a much-anticipated "red wave" of Republican victories never came in the fight for control of Congress.

"Candidates matter," the Trump advisor, who was not named, told CNN on Wednesday, adding, "They were all bad candidates."

Man, they always stick their foot in their mouth when speaking:
- So he backed a ton of bad candidates regardless? What's that say about his judgment?
- If a party is selecting for a ton of a bad candidates in their primaries, again, what's this say about his party?

I know it means nothing, it's all just noise and doesn't change any opinions, but it's just annoying to read this stuff if you're a rational person. I wish they'd just stop talking and let people breathe.
