This is an interesting example of how one can superficially construct a reality in which it seems like Trump is actually good at what he does, and is working for the betterment of others. Yet it betrays a deep misunderstanding of basic facts. I think its a great example of how propaganda can work. Thanks for sharing.

Because trump presents a n opportunity of a bigger target. Any shennegnigans they're going to be able to pin the blame on trump. Think of it like a litmus test. If you wanted to see how far you could get, you'd want someone like trump being louder and pulling focus

That actually makes complete sense -- push the boundaries to see how far you can go, and once you reach the point at which you've found the limit and people are beginning to push back, set Trump up as the fallguu. McTurtle really is the Emperor Palpatine in all of this.

 When you know the diagnostic criteria behind sociopathy and the process through which it's diagnosed but people who clearly don't keep calling Trump a sociopath

As per Jim Carrey discussion, I wholly agree that playing Biden isn't in his wheelhouse (and he does have a legit wheelhouse, but mimicking real people isn't in it), but I have to admit I *relished* the "...winner and a loooo-o-o-o-oser, a loooo-o-o-ooser" moment of this week's SNL opening.

That part made me chuckle. When he went full old school Carrey. He should go back to his Living Color roots and just go nuts

Yeah, I don't think he's a sociopath either. But I do think he's a malignant narcissist.

Definitely unmistakably narcissistic as hell, and probably malignant, yeah. Malignant narcissism still seems sort of weird to me though, in the sense that I don't quite understand it as well as I'd want to.

When people call him a sociopath though, I'm just like, "SO prior to age (13/15?) what legal trouble did he get into? What arson did he commit? What animals did he harm? Who did he bully? Where's the vandalism? Theft?" In order to be diagnosed with ASPD you have to be able to be diagnosed with CD (Conduct Disorder) as a child.

Think about what Trump has distracted everyone from the last four years-while also keeping the people on edge and at each other's throats. How much less are the people trusting each other, how much less likely are they to come together- against them, and demand change, why was trump out playing golf everyday instead of running the country? Because they wanted him too. He was a good figurehead distraction. and if biden plays his cards right, he'll remain a good distraction and keep the status...qou.

DOJ's top election crimes prosecutor quits in protest after Barr tells federal attorneys to probe unsupported allegations of voting irregularities - CNNPolitics

The Justice Department's top election crimes prosecutor resigned Monday in protest after Attorney General William Barr told federal prosecutors that they should examine allegations of voting irregularities before states move to certify results in the coming weeks.

Richard Pilger, director of the elections crimes branch in the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section, told colleagues in an email that the attorney general was issuing "an important new policy abrogating the forty-year-old Non-Interference Policy for ballot fraud investigations in the period prior to elections becoming certified and uncontested." Pilger also forwarded the memo to colleagues in his resignation letter.

Sheeeeeit.

In another Twitter blast, Trump said Pfizer and the FDA intentionally withheld news about a potential vaccine until after the election so they could help Biden.

No, they were helping themselves. It's Pfizer. They've been helping themselves for decades. They've made it perfectly clear they are not part of the government's "Warp Speed" project. They took no federal money and have no partnership, no matter how often Mike Pence lies about it.

Brian Williams just ended his broadcast with a clip of every presidential candidate going back to Jimmy Carter, conceding. All of them did it with dignity. We don't have that right now. We have garbage.

Well, the way I understand it the brains behind this brealthrough is actually BioNtech rather than Pfizer. They are a German company in Mainz founded by two medical professors (a married couple). They were originally working on mRNA-based cancer treatment when the pandemic hit and decided to develop a mRNA-based vaccine with some help by Pfizer. The two are children of Turkish migrants and already became billionaires before this breakthrough due to their company taking off like crazy because of the cancer research they've done.
