I was serious about starting over with that dude and having an argument in good faith. Oh well.

Trump supporters, even minimal ones, justifying their support of Trump has recently become one of the most entertaining things out there.

Eventually they pivot to - I don't really care who wins, I'm just making a point.... 🤪 It's great.

Me too, although I didn't expect him to actually take me up on it. He can't even state his own positions when asked.
People sometimes complain that there is a liberal bias here on TC. It doesn't help when so many of our more conservative members either avoid this subforum, or prove unwilling or unable actually to explain their positions.

That's because Highlander is part of the far left like Chris Wallace.

I think it's telling, that a lot of Trump supporters don't seem to have any specific ideological reasons for supporting him, it's just a matter of doing it to 'stick it to the dems' and upset the establishment.

Which I can understand why a conservative might get a rush from supporting him, but I can't figure why some people who are centrists or even some who hold liberal views feel so drawn to him.

It seems like overall the supposed liberal or left wing 'majority' here is a fairly small group of the same handful of posters--looking at the politics subforum, it appears to be mostly the same handful of people posting regularly. I don't think the bias is all that bad here, not like I've seen on some forums.

I have tried at times to engage with people who don't share my point of view. Some of them have stated point blank that they cannot be bothered to explain their views. It is impossible to have a meaningful discussion with such folks.

Truth to be told left winger is actually much more likely to join forum like this one. While on the other hand pretty much every foreigner that comes here will be some sort of "far left".

However I see nothing fundamentally wrong with "biased". Because "unbiased" can easily be just prettier word for status quo, which is rarely a good idea on the long run.

I just submitted my vote for Biden in a state that went for Trump last time.

Yeah...I mean, I am a moderate democrat with different views occasionally but I appreciate getting some discourse here. We may not always end up agreeing, but I feel I always learn something.

From what I've heard from people in the extreme Right areas, some people are voting on single issues like abortion. Some say they hold their nose while they vote for Trump, but they are still doing it. Maybe this single issue fixation is a result of overwhelm nowadays? I have friends who are trying to push the Libertarian candidate as a choice for people who absolutely will not vote Biden. The reluctant Trump voter crowd is the one that needs to be addressed.

Edit: That would at least split the Trump vote and provide another option.

Bernie woulda swayed more of the reluctant Trumpsters than Biden will. Oh well..

(Sorry to beat a dead horse, just frustrating to see the dems continue to make the same mistakes)

He did what I have been asking for all day: "Will you shut up, man." Thanks, Joe. You get my vote.
