They are just regular people.

They are secretive to avoid persectution from the catholic church. Originally, thats what it was, and I guess it kinda stuck. Though there may be other reasons. :ninja:

Didn't know that masons wore aprons, though I guess they have traditional attire at their ceremonies.

Don't know who/what shriners are.

I am not a FreeMason. :ninja:

I am not a Free Mason either. But they seem to do good things in the world. They contribute millions of dollars to charity. I think Shriners are part of the Mason group or at least ideology. The Shriner Hospital treats children with diseases at no charge.

I am a Free Mason.

Can you tell me a little bit about what you do?

Freemasonry is really old and outdated, it'll probably get smaller and smaller and maybe just die eventually. It's changed so much that it's not really structured thus losing its speciality.

If you're a history junkie, I suggest looking at Wikipedia first.

I've given and done some Masonic things indirectly and gave illuminati signs as a joke but people are responding to me seriously. I'm wondering if I should ask.

Ohhh these are the people who flunked out of haberdashery and millinery, and I believe their secrecy thing is all a jest because they put graphics on their hats and wear them in public.

I am not a free mason.

I dk, they're like vegans 50 years ago.

They've their reasons. I saw them in Playa del Rey, like, they know, they know.

They walk their dogs.

With the decline of religion in the West Freemasons were the first to go. And as Freemasons have no purchase in Asian, African, or developing countries, their fate seems to be sealed.

There are still plenty of Freemasons roaming the world. But it's a secret.;)

My grandad was a mason as is our next-door neighbour who was in the same lodge with him I think.

Apart from that I never enquired into the specifics of what it was they did in their 'rituals'. In fact my belief as a child was that it was to do with being old, possessing lots of ear hair and smoking a pipe, since that's what my grandad and next-door neighbour did/do.

I was never really that interested. It's secrecy for boys and toys.

But if you read up on it, due to each lodge supposedly having an independent jurisdiction of how they operate, it's hard to pinpoint an overall aim.

It's possible there isn't one, except a kind of maintainence that appeals to a certain sense of tradition for tradition's sake.

The Simpsons episode about the Stone cutters is an obvious parody of masonic orders and secret orders in general.

I created a thread once about how they stole my [sic] yogur. Everyone relax, though. There's no need to panic. I just bought some more.

Freemason's are one of two things.

1. An old dying order no one knows about
2. A thriving manipulative society connected to the illuminati mass brainwashing humanity through disney and other multi media that everyone makes fun of.

But there's much more than that.

Which do you think? There are lovely articles all over the internet. Whether or not you wish to dive off the deep end.;)
