If themightyfetus gets to have his/her/xir/their characters typed, then why can't I?

I play a text-based roleplay game called Cantr. Right now I have five developed characters and a sixth that is currently a blank slate (because I just spawned that character and she's is for language immersion). I typed most of them a long time ago back when my MBTI understanding was only dichotomies, but I'm curious to know what you people think. I might throw in some of my dead characters too, just for funsies.

For in-game anonymity's sake, I will not be posting their actual names, rather numbers of where they fall in my list of oldest to youngest.

Note: Images not drawn by myself will not be 100% accurate. When conflicts exist between details of the image and of the written description, refer to the written description.

Here we go.

Nine

Nine

curly_hair_cut.jpg

Appearance: Nine is average height, thin and angular. She has one outfit - a modest white silk dress shirt with silk pants and wooden clogs. The clothes fit loosely on her thin frame, like they're half a size too big. Her eyes are mostly light green but often reflect yellow specks in sunlight and gain a blueish-gray tint in low light, and her hair is dark and curly, contrasting her pasty skin despite spending years on a boat. If make-up were to exist in the game, she'd likely not use more than a bit of black eyeliner and mascara.

Personality: Nine is a mellow, melancholic soul. Her default emotional aura is somewhere between neutral and melancholy with a strong dose of timidity. Happiness usually appears more often than not to be relief, and when she laughs she sounds nervous even if she isn't. While she speaks two-and-a-half languages, she struggles still to understand spoken language and for that she is often timid, fearful that she will say the wrong thing because she doesn't understand what they're trying to tell her. Similarly, she becomes stressed when exposed to too much noise. She has been known to stand her ground and be assertive, but only as a last resort and when push came to shove. She lives with her travel companion, an older woman, on her boat, making land every so often to gather resources to feed themselves or make something new, to engage in social contact, and occasionally to go learn new languages. She likes making new friends but is often too shy to say much beyond her name.

Wants: Nine wants peace for herself and for the people around her. Conflict makes her very uncomfortable and that's why she enjoys travelling with her one friend. She wants to be able to communicate clearly with the people around her. Beyond that, she defers most of her wants to what her companion wants.

Likes: She likes rice cakes, spinach, the occasional fruit, and, if she had the chance to try them, would probably also like the various meats that Cantr has to offer (she's not vegetarian). Travelling on a boat all the time means she gives preference to foods (and other resources) that are economical, that is to say, they have low consumption rates so they last over long voyages. She likes peace and quiet, but not so quiet that nobody speaks for days at a time. While she enjoys the sounds of nature, she's not particularly attached to it.

Fears: Misunderstanding and threats to hers or her companion's personal safety. However, there isn't much in the way of traumatizing things that she hasn't seen. While she was once trapped in a food pantry during a town raid, someone dragged in a man and killed him in front of her. She spent days in there with the body before someone discovered her whereabouts and broke through the lock to free her. Another time she was on her ship, her companion was comatose inside (player was away on a long trip), and she had several other people on the boat, two men. One of the men picked up all of the food from the floor while fighting with the other about where to go. She ended up attacking the second man with a sabre and, once she made it to port, dragged him out and into the harbor and sailed off. The first man returned the food. Since then there have been no incidents to threaten her safety and she has backed into a haze of... not complacency, but more... her fears are not immediate, other than the miscommunication.

Lessons she needs to learn: It’s okay to misunderstand, as long as you work toward understanding. Which she does. Also, Nine needs to learn to open up to people and express herself more freely.

Fourteen

Fourteen

30-Curly-Hairstyles-for-Short-Hair-6.jpg

Appearance: If her appearance could be summed up in one word, that word would be chocolate. Her wildly curly hair is the color of milk chocolate and is beset with a wreath of silver leaves. Her eyes are the color of dark chocolate and sparkle energetically. Her skin is the color of hot chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in, not unlike caramel. She is almost constantly grinning, almost as if she's enjoying something delicious (like chocolate!) for the first time... all the time. Her voice is high-pitched and almost girlish, like she's constantly excited, like someone who's just been given a surprise mega-sized chocolate bar. Despite her relatively high-end head accessory, her clothes are simple and pragmatic (a simple dress made out of uncured animal hide), although she refuses to wear shoes. It's not uncommon to find her with dirt smudges on her face and in various other places on her wiry frame. She would never see the point in wearing makeup daily except maybe to scare people for fun.

Personality: Fourteen would easily be the type to overwhelm the senses of the likes of Nine. She is high-strung and crazy and wildly proud of it. She enjoys pulling pranks and gets bored with peace and tranquility, although she hates drama and would rather endure solitary confinement than listen to the people around her argue about petty things. (For this reason she also avoids listening to the radio.) Her level of "sanity" as she calls it is also tied to her consumption of meat - the longer she goes without meat the more "boring and normal" she becomes. She knows how to act socially normal; she just doesn't like to because it's more fun to be crazy. She has been known to play shanties on her wooden flute from a branch high up in the trees. She is also quite pragmatic - she knows what she wants and how to get it, and also whether looking for it is lucrative in some way. Other than her crazy and genuinely carefree attitude, she doesn't display much if anything else on the emotional spectrum, so when she does, it's completely out of character for her. She's completely frank - she once had a weird feeling she couldn't explain about the leader of a town she was visiting and told her so to her face, and that town leader threatened to have her thrown out for disrespect. Which didn't matter to Fourteen, of course, as she was just visiting and could go get fishmeat elsewhere. (She ended up being right, by the way.)

Likes: She likes meat (any kind of land meat especially). She really loves meat. She literally gets almost orgasmic pleasure from eating meat. If it weren't socially unacceptable (and also impossible given the game mechanics), she might even be cannibalistic, which might explain why she enjoys to spar with people using silverware. She loves climbing trees and feels relatively lost when the skies are open above her. Her old home in the forest consisted entirely of treehouses. She likes pretty things but won't let herself be distracted by them.

Fears: Fourteen fears being alone - on whom would she play her pranks then??? She also fears a lifetime of no meat and thus sanity. In a sense she also fears commitment, and isn't likely to commit to a serious job or relationship.

Lessons she needs to learn: Fourteen is not delusional about how she behaves; she just doesn't care. She needs to learn to have more tangible goals that do more than satisfy her own personal wants and needs, and to use tact. Actually she knows how to use tact, she just doesn't want to. She needs to learn how to deal with people when they unload their drama on her, or at least to pretend she cares.

Three

Three

untitled_drawing_by_snickiedude-d7l2j1p.png

Appearance: Short black hair as above. Large, wide set, light yellow-green eyes. Pale skin. Facial structure as above (except the nose isn't crooked, that was an error in drawing). Three is tall and heavyset, with a large frame and plenty within it. Her clothes are extremely pragmatic - her daily attire usually consists of a t-shirt, a pair of well-worn brown leather pants, snakeskin shoes, and a glass bead bracelet. Her movements are deliberate and often forceful, like she meant to put herself there.

Personality: Three prides herself in emotional stoicism. As a youth (meaning: in her twenties) she was more outwardly expressive but as she grew older* she reigned those in. She is known to crack jokes but otherwise it takes a lot to crack her stony exterior - emotional weakness must indicate weakness of character, she thinks of herself, and in her case, she's not entirely wrong. She spends so much energy putting up a front that she now must expend energy to force any emotion at all out, even appropriate reactions to her jokes. She is rather insecure but would never admit it to anyone, preferring instead to focus on what she's doing. As a member of a prestigious group formerly warrior tribe, she would find it odd or forced to be in any kind of relationship. She doesn't care about other people's problems if they don't involve her. She is an observer.

* It should be noted that characters don't die from old age and so it is literally just a number to express how long they have existed.

Likes: Meat, though not to the extent that Fourteen does. Efficiency. She also likes being right, but who doesn't.

Fears: Being lied to, dissolution of her people, emotional outburst, having to take on a leadership role for which she is not prepared.

Lessons she needs to learn: It is okay to express your emotions! An emotional persona should be allowed to consist of more than just amusement and mild irritation.
