Myers Briggs Types as Fairytale Archetypes - Confessions of a Myers Briggs-aholic

Myers Briggs Types as Fairytale Archetypes

ISTJ: The Worrier. A character unwittingly dragged on this journey, and spending the whole time complaining about how it’s not what they are supposed to be doing and they will get in trouble.

ISFJ: The Sidekick. A talking chipmunk or bird or maybe just a very loyal human that helps the princess on her journey.

INFJ: The Sage. Perhaps the heroes stumble upon them in a hidden wood or cabin. Either way, this quiet but caring elder will give them the key to their journey.

INTJ: The Witch. Isolated, cunning, with a long term plan. More clandestine than the relative, but just as menacing.

ISTP: The Craftsman. That wand that helped the princess defeat the dragon? The sword for the prince? This character made it. After all, crystal slippers don’t just grow on trees.

ISFP: The Fairy. Sweet and mystical, this creature isn’t one to sit on the shoulder of the main character and follow them around, but they will fly to the rescue once in a while to help.

INFP: The Princess. The dreamy, naive, and idealistic girl wandering in the woods singing.

INTP: The Villain’s Assistant. Somehow this under-appreciated and underpaid character ended up working for the power hungry relative or witch.

ESTP: The Dragon. Impulsive, hot-tempered (ha puns), physically aggressive, and doing whatever it they can to thwart the heroes of the story.

ESFP: The Performer. Maybe working for the royal family as a jester or musician, this character provides the comedic relief and entertainment in the story.

ENFP: The Genie. Friendly, helpful, but not always the most reliant character in the story.

ENTP: The Trickster. Maybe good, maybe bad, mostly this character is all about causing mischief and thinking of crazy schemes and ideas.

ESTJ: The Prince. Brave, self-confident, and driven by duty, he rides in on his noble steed to save the princess.

ESFJ: The Fairy Godmother. Ready to pop in with a sparkling dress, give some needed encouragement, and save the day!

ENFJ: The King. A benevolent and kind ruler, he bestows wisdom and help to the heroes.

ENTJ: The Power-Hungry Relative. Perhaps a jealous stepmother or bitter uncle, this character is all about gaining power at any cost, and adeptly manipulates and used those around them to achieve it.
