Collective consciousness.
A concept.

Patriotism
Money

OK. Let us limit it there. Less is more. Lists are tiresome.

Patriotism.

Jesse Helms believes in Patria. But he does not believe in Americans.
Patria is not for the people. People are for the Patria.
Does Patria exist? In the collective consciousness.
People are flesh and blood. Patria is a concept.

Country.
Take France.
Does France exist?
In the collective consciousness.

When you leave the coast of Provence and enter the Italian Riviera, what changes? The language? Not one bit. The clothing? The food? Not at all.
The Flag is what changes. The rag symbol for the Patria.

Symbol is a cloth.
Ceasar however is naked.

2. Money

The banks do not lend the thing to each other any more.
Why?
They lost faith.

Apropos money is faith.
What is faith?
Collective consciousness is faith. :)

The first thing that came to mind was Wilfred Owens'
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.
when I saw Jesse Helms' name.

Question:
Faith || Assumption

Two sides of the same coin?

"I would sacrifice every Frenchman for the Glory of France" - Gen. Charles de Gaulle. But Charley, what would your 'France' be?

Two sides, one coin.
Well said. :)
Wilfred spoke the truth.

I'm just amazed by your mentioning Jesse Helms! What a knowledgeable kitty!

Wilfred Owen is primo. Just sorry he had to die for naked Caesar.

A good notion.
The France of le Grand was a fortress.
That is what Gaulle means: the wall.

Yes. The war ended just a week later. What a waste.

Horatius was a soldier, too. Therefore he knew what.
