Sacrifice

I have forgotten the name of the father and son involved. I think the son was issac but it has been years since i have read the bible. Anyway God told him to sacrifice his son but when his dad got to the top of the mountain he instead gave him a lamb to sacrifice. Now many people say how could god do such an evil thing to the father and son but in my humble opinion i always saw it as a story god was telling to say don't sacrifice humans to me. Humans have sacrificed over and over again when worshipping fake gods so real god was saying dont sacrifice humans to me, because he is good. I hope this in some way makes some sense. it is just my opinion. And just to add even if it was a real event i dont feel a little fear to spread a greater good is a terrible thing. context.
