Yep, thought of that as soon as I saw the title of this thread.

I just read this, and I'm befuddled, because I can't believe that people didn't realize this was the case. I thought it was obvious that emotion is the only thing that drives people to act, and to act in whatever way they do. "Pure reason" is a capacity of the brain, used like a tool, and apparently some are far less equipped to use it than others. Those who didn't realize the above come to mind.Courtesy MacGuffin I think : Hearts & Minds - The Boston Globe

Hardly. People aren't all made with equal but possibly different skills. Some are great at many things, and some are great at nothing.I agree with you that it's pretty obvious when you think about it. Can't say I care for the last two sentences of your comment though. Some may not make use of the 'tool of reason' as much or in the same way you do. But they tend to be better at using the 'raw material', causing them to have less need for said tool and obviously having less practice with it because of that..

Though I've known some very intelligent (Like high IQ) people who still favor emotional decision making over logical, in cases where that choice is able to be made.
Yes, they are very important...especially since I don't feel a whole lot in the feeling department.
